lpinkus
Imagine if the banks in Varrock were understood to be trade areas for certain items, similar to the way the marketplace forums are set up here at tipit. So, when you go on a busy world to trade, you would go to the NE Varrock bank if you were trading weapons or armor, and you'd go to the E bank if you were trading herbs, potions, food, etc. Now, that might be a bad example for a few reasons. First off, it's just two big categories, which is probably not enough. Also, I'm sure people have different ideas about how those categories are sorted out. So, perhaps there could be more areas for categories, possibly, if say weapons/armor were traded inside the NE bank and herbs/potions outside. Then, there's still another bank for other categories. I think this sort of thing could help if players took the time to inform each other; JAGeX wouldn't have to get involved at all. I do realize informing everyone is not possible, but it sure would be nice to know that at one bank/area it will be much easier to sell a rune scimitar while it will be much easier to buy prayer potions at another. If it did work out, this could also work the same in Falador, but I think all categories should exist in each world. Well? Did I waste time writing that or what? :) lpinkus
ivan_the_hun
Hey, good idea! :D And, has you said, it didn't have to be official. If a goup of people (the ppl that read this post) start doing that, and start talking to ppl in runescape, this could become like...whats the word...tradition...fashion...(my mother language isn't english, but you get the idea)
distilledwill
i find this happens anyway. go to Varrock W if you want to trade armour (and admittedly, a lot of other things, because it is the main hub of trade and everyone visits there) go to Falador E to trade bars, ores and picks. (because of its proximity to the mining guild) go to Draynor bank to trade logs and hatchets. (because of its proximity to the willows and a couple of yews) i dont really know about the p2p cities and the functions they provide.

All the banks have naturally become trade centers for certain things because of what they are located near. If you want to buy big bones, you go to varrock west, for rune ess, its varrock east, for crafting stuff its al kharid, etc. There doesnt need to be anyhting official, most people already naturally know which bank is which
MasterOfThePuppets
Actually, this kind of exists on an even more detailed level. Take World 1, a major trading world. Around the west varrock bank, there are various zones. North of the bank is god/trimmed armor and holiday items. East of the bank is mostly armor and other essential items. Inside the area around the staircase is for trading runes.
