  1. First, keep in mind my answers to ZoneAlarm questions will be from years of experience with computers and security, not experience with ZoneAlarm. OK, then. [*:v27ig9bz]They are parts of the Windows subsystem. ZoneAlarm won't let you change them because that would cause problems. [*:v27ig9bz]That doesn't matter. It should, depending on your settings, ask you about them when they try to access the internet. [*:v27ig9bz]I don't know...it depends on your system. For the most part, anything that needs to get things from the Web (MS Word, IE, Firefox, Online Games, VirusScan and Firewall updates...) should be allowed.
  2. Take a screenshot of it, post it to http://www.imageshack.us, and put it in here.
  3. Sounds to me like someone with physical access to the computer is doing it. Got any brothers or sisters?
  4. Download SIW and use that for System Information.
  5. Put this into Notepad, save it as rsdns.bat, and double click the file. Note, you must do this as an administrator. echo. 64.90.181.244 runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 82.133.85.216 www.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 69.22.158.241 advert-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 69.22.158.241 create-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 64.90.181.252 hiscore-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 216.180.254.136 password-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 64.37.71.207 news-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 64.37.71.203 jagex.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 217.138.42.34 www.jagex.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts echo. 64.37.71.207 masterb-web.runescape.com >> C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
  6. Theres many scenarios whereby you might want to change IP address. Its not our place to judge. Depending on your ISP you might get a new IP address if you merely turn off your system and routers for an hour. Then when you re-turn everyhting on it will aquire a new IP address. OR... you might have a perminant IP address given to you by your ISP, in which case you will need to contact customer services in order to get a new one. He never said he had a router... Also, changing IPs are generally referred to as dynamic, and nonchanging IPs are referred to as static. If your ISP uses one these terms, that's what it means.
  7. Why not? Mine has over 8000 lines of blocked domains Any chance of you posting it?
  8. Actually, it's something involving a bit of Javascript and frames. But yeah, it won't work.
  9. You didn't happen to use any Sony DRM CD's lately, did you? I noticed something about Ares, might be nothing, though.
  10. Ok. It's a problem with your DNS, no idea why. I'll get working on a batch file to fix it.
  11. I have an external harddrive in a USB 2.0 enclosure. Works like a charm.
  12. Ah, I misread the first post. I thought his monitor might be going fuzzy. :!: Change your resolution using this: http://www.download.com/Resolution-Chan ... tag=button
  13. Messenger Plus? As in, yahoo, msn...or what? Also, no respectable company would bundle this. It is clearly incredibly virulent.
  14. http://www3.sympatico.ca/gtopala/about_siw.html I love this program. It has served me very well, and is an excellent system information tool.
  15. That might just be your problem. You could: a) Get a new scanner, one that is Windows XP compatible B) Run the stuff in compatibility mode.
