Okay so do ijust need to start the quest As a First Resort... to use the bank and cut trees or do i need to complete the quest?

im not 100% sure it's been a while but i think the bank becomes available for use during the quest, not requiring you to beat it. you may want to check tip.it's quest guide just to be sure

The bank becomes available soon after starting the quest. You don't need to finish it.

The trees can be cut without doing the quest, but there's no bank nearby until you start the quest. (Although you could use a Spirit Larupia teleport if you were really determined.) The bank can be accessed without finishing As a First Resort, although I recommend doing the whole thing. If nothing else, it'll let you take the charter ship back to Oo'glog so you can come back there after a farming run. And the sal[bleep]er spring especially is very valuable.

Ive now started it and can use bank, the trees seem to take forever to cut and by time i get a load my run is full anyway

The exp seems really slow though

Only reason im not going to finish quest is ebcuase my Hunter is well extreamly low

Edited- Should i use Spirit Terror Birds to carry extra logs?

yes use a BoB and even though the logs may come slow remeber they are 10xp less then yews and 100 more then willows

97.5 xp more than willows, to be exact.

A spirit terrorbird works fine at eucs, although I prefer a forager since the loads are slow enough that less banking isn't a big deal. As foragers go, fruit bat > magpie > beaver. You could look at my woodcutting guide (link in sig) if you have further questions.
