I'd like to suggest the following improvements to the chat system:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. ability to turn off "logged in" and "logged out" messages

 

 

 

2. ability to see private message history like in RSC

 

 

 

3. ability to chat to the one you're trading with in the trade window

 

 

 

4. ability to make bank and trade screens translucent

 

 

 

5. when chatting to npc's, remove all the windows where your own character talks, let the npc do all the talking and let your character talk by clicking the options

 

 

 

6. ability for others to see when you have public chat turned off

 

 

 

7. increase the hearing distance when in less populated areas

 

 

 

8. ability to see the number of free inventory spots the other has in a trade window

All good ideas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And ffs! I can't believe they havn't even made a chat window in Trade screen YET!

let me add one. talk to people who are offline. If your both on eachothers friend list, you can leave a msg for when they log on.

Lol, agreed. And all 8 suggestions are good. I would especially like to click less when "talking" to NPCs. I can't imagine how many times I've clicked "Search away, I have nothing to hide." The Al Kharid toll gate dialog, same thing.

That's pretty ironic, considering whatever you entered as your location was removed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No personal filters. If you wanted to make your own chat filter, you'd need a parent's permission. JAGeX assumes few parents are checking out what happens in RS, therefore they try themselves to make the game a bit more wholesome. It may be annoying to have non-offensive words blocked out by accident, but that's how it goes.
