rsInvestorr
Can anyone else confirm this to be accurate? But, the way I will alch would still be faster than this. Grab a stop watch and do the math for yourself. It is easy to confirm. (Also, there is no method to alch faster.) Yes, the numbers were conservative. I regularly push well over 100k mage xp an hour with superheat.

Zaaps1
If your can get on Vets PC, casting fire wave there can get as much as 80k per hour or higher. Enchantment spells at the Mage Arena (above dstone) are CHEAPER and FASTER than Alch. Dstone is 65k-ish an hour, onyx is around 80k. It can be fun if you like the minigame. ~It's Super Effective!
How does the Mage Training Arena enchanting compare to Superheat in both terms of cost and xp/hr? Here's the data I posted on my clan's site about MTA. [hide=]I believe that compared to Alchemy, MTA is clearly the better option after level 68 (D stone enchant, although magic potion works I believe). I'll take my previous number of 62k/hour xp at alching. I was able to get this on my 1 hour test run of alchemy. Now on a 1 hour test run at MTA using dragonstone enchant, I was able to get approximately the same. (I did not keep careful track during this test.) I decided to do another test. For 30 minutes here are my results. This is 100% accurate since the MTA actually tells you this information when you leave the Enchantment Chamber (well, only 1 piece of it, but you can figure out the rest.) 558 Orbs Enchanted (In other words, 558 casts of Dstone Enchant) 523 Points Gained (Or about 104 cosmics if you buy them back from the Rewards Guardian) 32085 Magic Experience 18 Bonus Cosmics 30 Bonus Deaths 24 Bonus Bloods And 12% growth on my Sara Bird  Anyway...if we take a look at the Magic Exp, double it and you get ~64k xp/hour. 2k/hour HIGHER than my alchemy average. In addition, cosmics are only 150 gp, compared to the 170 gp loss per alch. So it is also CHEAPER. Furthermore, you get bonus Cosmics, Deaths, and Bloods from the minigame itself. Cool? Last but not least, you can get 208 cosmics BACK PER HOUR if you exchange the points at the Rewards Guardian. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! After 87 magic, you can use ONYX ENCHANT, giving 72.25 xp per enchant! That's 40315.5 xp in those given 30 minutes if I used Onyx enchant. That's 80k an hour of xp. That's almost 1/3 faster than Alchemy. So what's the catch? Yeah you'll need a lot more concentration. No mindless clicking on the "5" Mousekey button, you'll actually need to be active in the game. But personally, that's a plus for me, since it makes this much more fun. Distractions (talking to friends, etc.) also make a much bigger difference in this, although with skill you can talk and enchant and lot lose much xp. Lastly, you'll be alone the entire time. You will almost never see anyone else. Just you and the Charmed Warriors there. And that fat Guardian. But how's this compare to Ancients/Lunar? Humidify: Humidify is exactly the same as alchemy, so I can safely say that MTA is better than Humidify. Glassmake: The crafting xp is cool, but the magic xp isn't great, and all the banking is bound to kill you. I'd do MTA any day. Plankmake: Probably the biggest competitor. Compare this to Onyx enchant, since they are closer in level. I cannot do Plankmake, so I cannot test it. I'm unsure about how these two compare. Would anyone like to give me numbers for Plankmake? Ice Burst/Barrage: These spend too much money for my liking, at least 700k per hour. The xp is fantastic, but so is the cost. However, Ice burst/barrage is a great combination with ROCK LOBSTERS, yielding high Magic Xp, Summoning Xp, and a nice Hits Xp per hour. If you can afford this, do this. That's my conclusion. I'm dumping the Yew Longs and going to MTA for my Magic Exp from now on[/hide] Here's the important part: 558 Orbs Enchanted (In other words, 558 casts of Dstone Enchant) 523 Points Gained (Or about 104 cosmics if you buy them back from the Rewards Guardian) 32085 Magic Experience 18 Bonus Cosmics 30 Bonus Deaths 24 Bonus Bloods And 12% growth on my Sara Bird  Anyway...if we take a look at the Magic Exp, double it and you get ~64k xp/hour. 2k/hour HIGHER than my alchemy average. Last but not least, you can get 208 cosmics BACK PER HOUR if you exchange the points at the Rewards Guardian. So that means you would use roughly 1.1k cosmics per hour, however if you have extreme patience you can buy about 200 of those cosmics back (although it would take around 10 minutes and a lot of clicking to do so!) In addition, you would also get 144 bonus runes of bloods, deaths, and cosmics per hour (that's about 35k of runes). Not to mention it's faster. ~It's Super Effective! rsInvestorr
I have no idea what you are referring to as 'faster' there. That data is great and all, but it is missing the most effective training spell there is, and that is superheat. It blows the hell out of the mage training arena in terms of ease of use and xp per hour, and there is a lot less running around. You can also easily multi task wile super heating, not the case with the MTA.

Both of them involving click the spell then an item in the invent. And honestly that 1 extra minimap click won't kill you...(2 if you count the return trip). The key is ignoring the bonus shape and the dstones and just focusing on xp. I'll be honestly I didn't consider superheating when I did that test. But I would estimate it equal with MTA in terms of mage xp, and probably a tad better due to the smithing. However there's one downfall with it: you must be vigilant with the prices. If they fall out of sync superheating goes down the drain, while a 10gp change in the price of cosmics mean nothing. Jw, which bar do you use while superheating? I tend to go with Adamant to get the most smithing xp out of it as possible. ~It's Super Effective! rsInvestorr
That just doesn't make sense. How do you multitask superheating but not MTA? I agree here. We could derail the entire discussion defining the meaning of multitasking. I'll be honestly I didn't consider superheating when I did that test. There is no "downfall" as ore and bar prices are connected, aside from the fact that it is iron ore, and the prices haven't changed in forever. And lastly, Addy bars? You get significantly less mage xp and smithing xp per hour with addy bars.
Zaaps1
How are you getting 120k per hour with this? ~It's Super Effective! rsInvestorr
Just camp at a 1 click bank, and superheat iron ore into bars. Once you get the timing down, you can really start to jack hourly mage xp through the roof. Just think about it before asking why not steel, addy, or bronze... Zaaps1
Well obviously iron is best for mage xp, but I only did addy because I consider smithing xp to be worth more than magic. I still have no idea how you're getting that much per hour. That's 2.2k casts of superheat ore, or 1 cast every 1.33 seconds... ~It's Super Effective!
