Terraaer
Up untill the past few weeks, the Tip.it Times where a one article per week kind of deal. However, recently there has been a jump to three+ a week. I would like some opinions on if this is for better or for worse. I am assuming most people will say better, but i am wondering if there is anyone who largly dislikes Tip.it Times and feel obligated to read because of the service Tip.it provides. Once again, I am fairly sure everybody will be for, or neutral because they do not read the times, but let me know : <--- click for teh free cookies! nom nom nom
Alg
I stopped reading the times regularly a year or so ago, though three articles would be an improvement if there's one in the old style. I do have to wonder if they still take submissions though... I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
Zierro
Personally I can't keep up with them anymore and I've lost interest in them. It seems like now they just want something to say instead of wanting to say something. I'd probably read them again if there were only like one good one per month. Otherwise I'd rather spend my time in Off-Topic and General Discussion.
langer
I don't read the stories... a tad too geek for me. I usually read the primary article but it's really a bad thing when they incorporate wrong data such as this week's with the dragon crossbow. BTW, the ruby bolt spec does not take away 20% of a monster max hit, it takes away 20% of its remaining HP. Meaning a team of 5 rangers successfully specing it wouldn't kill it on the spot. I really like the "did you know" feature even though as this point I know 90% of them . I usually skip the articles about pking as I have no interest in those and in any debate whatsoever with a pker. What I would like about the Times, are articles that summarise the latest update and what people found out about new ways of training, how will it affect a player's style of play... It's good that more articles are coming, but the first paragraph of every article should give en overview of the article so to either spark my interest or make me do something else and not waste my time if the content is not for me. With this frame of mind, a template would be really useful for tip.it's Times hopeful journalists. Atonisk
The quality has really been down lately, as well. Not that a lot of the stuff in the past year hasn't been somewhat dodgy, but now it seems more miss than hit. I appreciate that they're trying to generate a lot of new content, but they need better writers. One aspect that they don't seem to cover much is RS's real-world connection, such as the mythology Jagex decides to incorporate into the game. I guess that kind of goes against the grain, since the articles are generally op-ed pieces but it would make for a nice change.
