kaibani
K i have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 card for my notebook, and when i launched fraps, it gave a warning saying that my catalyst drivers were out of date. It required at least V 5.7 Catalyst for my graphics card. I went looking on the website and i downloaded the catalyst for it, until i realized that it wasn't for Mobility. So i went to the mobility catalyst drivers section, and all they supported was the x800 and x700 series. I mean fraps works "ok", wait, it lags my gaming BIG time especially on Gunzonline. The recordings also show huge lags. Does anyone know the solution? thanks. Sup noobs.
Mercifull
Get a more powerful Graphics card and more memory. Thats about all you can do. battletrax
Actually, there's a much simpler solution. The ati drivers all work with mobility cards, but ati doesn't allow the installer to install on machines with mobility cards b/c they don't provide any support for them. I have a 9600mobile and of course the only ATI driver that I ca get is the couple year old one from gateway. Here's the solution. Get modified drivers! I use omega drivers which are, according to many benchmarks, more powerful than the regular ati drivers. And of course they work with all mobility cards :) go to omegadrivers.net to get them ATI officially recognized omegadrivers as the best of the ati driver modding community a while ago and I've been using them on two of my machines for a few years, so they're pretty reliable. kaibani
Wait, one more question. While installing it, it popped up a warning saying that it didn't pass the windows logo driver's test. I stopped the installation there...Should I continue installing? :? Sup noobs.
battletrax
Yea. They don't bother geting their drivers certified by windows. I've noticed that a lot of major companies don't bother with that rubbish either.
kaibani
Ok...well, um, after i cancelled the isntallation, went on with my business on the computer, shut it off, came on the next day, and was horrified to see the screen stretched out in 600X 800 pixels....also, my graphics card was uninstalled (ati mobility radeon 9200), and so now i gotta find the disk to install it...not sure if there even is one. Well, anyways, I'm gonna change my OS to professional so my internet won't be so buggy. After that i'll try again... Sup noobs.
battletrax
You should really read the readme the comes up lol. All ati drivers whether direct from ati or from omega CANNOT be installed over other ati drivers. You usually have to uninstall the old ones, reboot and install the new ones, but from what you're saying, it seems like they fixed the process. Just install the omega drivers rather than installing OLD ati drivers.
