**The Coald Front** Rediscovering Burthorpe! High lvl Quest!

Featured Replies

Hey everybody, this is my suggestion for a new quest, its demanding, and tricky, but not too tricky. Also it opens up a new town/city, a new balanced set of armour, new slayer monster and training dungeon. Please read on!

THE COALD FRONT

Requirements:

Quests:Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold, Druidic ritual, Dwarf cannon, Recruitment Drive

Items: 3x Adamant armour set, 5x Vial, 5x Whiskey, Zamorak Robe set, 1 Bandos and Guthix item of armour/apparel, tinderbox, Pickaxe, Good food and armour

Levels:80 agility, 72 herblore, 96 firemaking, 61 mining, High combat and Prayer

Monsters: Zamorak warriors (level 112), Snow Troll Drones( level 77), Zamorak Party leader(level 96), Living Zamorak Statue(level413), Troll Archer/Warrior (level 171/186)

START: Talk to any Saradomin warrior in the God wars Dungeon. Theyll ask you for help, saying that some of their colleagues went on an expedition north of here and havent returned in weeks. You offer to help.

CHAPTER 1- FINDING FAITH

1. Head north of the GWD and eventually the blizzard will get more harsh. this will drop any non combat skills by 80% temporarily and lower prayer points to zero. The effects of this blizzard can be negated with Inferno Serum(explained later).

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu79 ... 1235147007 When you get to a gate, prepare for combat, as some Zamorak Warriors will ambush you. Kill all three of them and continue, eating if necessary. Then youll come to a crevace requiring 16 agility to leap over, if affected by the blizzard, you need 80.

Carry on walking till you come to a gorge, run through the gorge avoiding the attacks of the snow troll drones(max hit 6) and then eventually youll reach what looks to be an abandoned campsite. Check it out, youll find some warriors huddled round in one of the huts. Talk to them. They say they came as they felt the presence of evil up ahead, but they cant fight as theyre too cold. They need some inferno serum as theirs has run out. They ask you to get them some each. http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu79 ... front2.jpg

CHAPTER 2- THE UNLIGHTABLE FIRE-PART ONE

1. They say Sanfew in Taverly knows how to make it. You should visit him.

2. In taverley, Sanfew will give you a note with the recipe on.

VIAL + WHISKEY + DWARVEN COAL + TINDERBOX = INFERNO SERUM(1) (1 is the max doses of inferno serum per vial)

You ask where to get Dwarven coal from. Sanfew tells you that the only place where dwarven coal can be mined is the mine northeast of Falador.

3. Talk to a black guard there and he'll say that you can mine the dwarven coal if you help him clear the mine of some ork invaders(level 76).

4. Search the mine, killing any orks you find. At the end, theres an ork invader chief (level 172) who has high hp(208) but a measly max hit of 7. Deal with him, then the gaurd will thank you and give you the freedom of the mines.

5. Mine some coal, 5 should be enough. then gather your ingredients together and make some inferno serum. 72 herblore required

CHAPTER 2- THE UNLIGHTABLE FIRE-PART TWO

1.Take your serum to the saradomin warriors. They say the door to the armory's frozen over. Use some serum on the door and the ice will melt. Then they say the fire wont light. Use some serum on the fire and light it. Finally give them the final 3 vials of serum and theyll now be ready to move on.

2. Theyll ask you to scout out whats further on.

CHAPTER 3- GAINING ENTRY

1.Head north and climb down the rocks. Youll now be in Old Burthorpe(title^) (if youve read this far, type my forum username at the bottom of your post) http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu79 ... 1235147074

2. Try talking to some of the civilans. None will talk to you unless you support their god. (your god items) All will say they hate the bones of anyone following Saradomin. They say they stayed here when all saradomin followers moved to 'new' Burthorpe.

This is bad news. Head back to the warriors and tell them about Old Burthorpe. They say they have to come up with a plan. You say you have one. you tell them to take off their armour and give them some adamant to wear.

3. Escort them into Old Burthorpe. And one of the Saradomin warriors will remember an old friend Damascus. who has a house in town. Find his house.

4. Wen you find his house, ask him about the town and the evil that lives in it.He is neutral. He says the town is being constantly threatened by trolls. He askes you to scout out the north.

5. Head across the ledges and carry on going up the path until you reach a cliffside and you see a large army of troll warriors and archers. Hide behind the rock and listen to what theyre talking about. theyll tell you when theyre planning the next invasion.

6. Head back and tell Damascus of the invasion. And hell have just the thing. a Recruitment ring. He will ask you to wear it when fighting god wars monsters to recruit them to fight with you against the trolls.

7. Go back back to the godwars dungeon and recruit(get below 5% health) 20 monsters. The stronger they are, the easier the next bit will be.

8. get your food and armour and go back to the troll army. Your army will be waiting there for you and will fight to the death with you against the trolls. When all trolls are dead, Proceed

CHAPTER 4- THE AGREEMENT

1. Go inside the troll village of EI'DAAR and speak to the general. He'll tell you that the reason theyre attacking is that they want the Eye Of Zamorak. If you get them it, they'll stop attacking.

2. How Hard can it be? Remove the eye from the statue and thats it. Return and talk to Damascus about it, and he'll tell you thats not even the real eye. The real one is in a chest in a highly guarded room in the temple of zamorak. You need your zamorak robes on here. Inside the temple is the Zamorak Party Leader (level 96) kill him and open the chest. Its locked with a word wheel puzzle which to the answer is TROLLS BEGONE.

3 WIth the Eye Of Zamorak, head outside and youll be attacked by the Statue( level 413). Kill it and deliver the Eye to the General. He will hand you an agreement to Make peace between the humans and the trolls. He'll also reward you 10k Gp, a Warrior club, a Stone bow and the fredom to use the village's services.

4. Take the Agreement to Damascus and he'll reward you:

-2x 25k xp lamps

-Sterling Armour set(Full Helm, Kiteshield, Platelegs/skirt and Platebdy)

-Old Burthorpe teleport Sheet (level 83 magic. 2 law, 2 earth 1 fire and 1 water)

-15k Attack and Defence xp

-Key to the Training dungeon containing Troll drones, Ice mages, SNow dragons and Ice Paladins.(83 slayer)

Then talk to one of the Saradomin warriors and he'll also reward you:

-Key to the Saradomin Armoury in old Burthorpe.

bumpety bump. your thoughts please?

Yeah, high lvl quests are a great idea, but to go through the hassle of designing and coding it, you gotta make sure that a worthwile number of people can do the quest. Hence your 96 firemaking is just a tad out of step.

And by a tad, I mean a giant leap from reality.

Bring it down 15 or 20 lvls. 81 is pretty high, but still do able. Also drop the agility one about 5 levels too.

96 fm is way too much. Other than that it seems pretty well thought out.

That and super high lvls needed for a short quest makes it... meh.

support but why so Coald?

enex2sigjpegkm3.jpg

Currently the quest is too much "go to place X, kill monster Y, get item Z" -like. Something like sneaking around in the zamorakian area without getting noticed and going through an ice maze while your stats are being lowered would be interesting.

Nice job, RESULTS.

  • 2 weeks later...

thanks for the support and ideas guys!

im currently in the process of updating the thread to accommodate the new items and monsters, so feel free to point out any wrong-doings there and help me think of ways to make the idea better.

look forward to your response
