Before you come in here thinking I'm a huge noob, I'd like to inform you I haven't played RS in about 15 months. I'm trying to decide if I want to give RS another chance.

 

 

 

So many things have changed since I was a player, it seems all my money making methods have been destroyed. My methods when I took a break(October 2007) were:

 

 

 

1) RC natures via the abyss. I could get like 400k an hour doing this. Nats have dropped and ess has risen due to the anti-pk'ing update.

 

 

 

2) DK/KQ. I made close to 20m in a couple of months by killing these creatures. It was excellent money. However, I was going through the GE thing on the site today and I am shocked on how the rewards have dropped.

 

 

 

3) Barrows. Same as above. I was shocked to see how my complete barrows collection(all 6 sets) have decreased in value.

 

 

 

4) Merchanting. Pretty much dead with the removal of unbalanced trade. I could pull in over a million on a good hour merchanting yews.

You can do it with your stats now, but I'd suggest leveling to at least 85 attack, strength and defence before you seriously start hunting them for money. By leveling, it'll also make it a lot easier for you to find yourself a team.

 

 

 

Alternatively, you can train range if you want to hunt the Armadyl and Sara boss because it is more efficient to kill Zilyana with range and its impossible to kill Armadyl with melee. You also might want to get summoning up because some of the familiars you can use (spirit terrorbird, war tortoise etc...) will lengthen your trip by a considerable amount.

 

 

 

The methods used to kill the bosses are fairly easy to learn... If you're capable of DK'ing, you're capable of GWD'ing. The Zammy Boss and Bandos Bosses are pretty much just tank 'n spank. One player tanks the damage of the main boss while the others concentrate on killing it as fast as possible. Sara involves keeping mage prayer on while avoiding Zilyana's melee attacks: this is done by utilizing the Spirit Terrorbird's (52 summ) scroll which restores you a certain amount of run energy dependent on your agility level. It also doubles as a BOB which can carry up to 12 items. The Arma boss is just running in, keeping range prayer up and shooting the bird down.

merchanting is alive and is taking steroids... join cmrobins, bobbomatic, gee pee up or chessy018. Those are merchanting clans. A merchanting clan, and its members, commit all their money to buying all of a particular item. See the graph for uncut diamonds and you see a huge leap, this was cmrobins's doing. The clan buys out all/most of the stock on the g.e (at max price) causing the price to go up the next day. They sell on a pre-planned dump day. The trick to making money with this is DUMPING BEFORE THE CLAN DOES otherwise you are screwed and left with junk.

 

 

 

 

 

I personally make up to 1m, 1.25m with my last try, every 4 hours from merchanting. All i have to do is log on change my offers and log off (takes 5 minutes or less) and come back in 4 hours and sell what i have for good profit.

 

 

 

Of course after selling, i have the 4 hour limit prohibiting me from purchasing the same item :cry: . So if i want to keep doing it, it's on an 8 hour scale.

Slayer - this will get you charms and money. Getting your summoning up is importnat, as it can affect what you can do in terms of boss hunting. But, at the moment, I would suggest DK's. Yor mage level and experience would make very long trips easy. Good luck and welcome back!:)
