February 5, 200917 yr I download gimp from gimp.org, install it into the applications folder and try to run it but then i get this message
February 5, 200917 yr You need X11, if it wasn't apparent already. Get your install disk and run the installer, and select the X11 option. Follow the instructions. Then try using gimp again.

February 7, 200917 yr I don't think I can help you then; I just looked for the easiest way to install X11 on a mac and posted it here. I suggest you look on a Mac or GIMP specific help forum for advice, not many people around here use both GIMP and mac. Good luck :thumbup:

February 7, 200917 yr I just downloaded GIMP and installed it with no problems but I'm also running OS X 10.5.6 so I don't know how much help I can be to you since your running OS X 10.4.11. Also my X11 started right up when I launched GIMP.
