RayOxide
WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE? im trying to set up my bloody DS online stuff, i got the SSID, but the little card that gives the ssid gives me a WPA number NOT A WEP, but the DS says i need a WEP key. SO.. HOW PLZ? Yes i tried using the wpa code into my DS. It did NOT work and its pissing me off. If anyone can give me a step by step helpy thing would be nice I dont need a siggy no moar. Laura
WEP uses a simple code, I forget how many numbers, but they're simple to crack. WPA and WPA2 are more complex and harder to crack. Certain devices aren't compatible with WPA or WPA2 yet, such as an old DS I suppose. I can help you chage it, should your router be a linksys (I don't know how to do it on any other router). Doomster
WEP has some significant defects that make cracking it easier than it should be. WPA-PSK (aka WPA light / home etc.) does not have the weakness, but the pre-shared key mode is not 100% robust. WPA with radius server is more robust than WPA-PSK. RayOxide
Ok.. Well i have a '2wire' router, so I have to try to manually set up my DS. I THINK i made a wep key.. but i have no idea. Its quite complicated, so i give up, thanks anyway :S I dont need a siggy no moar.
