You must first release Eadgar from jail before talking to Sanfew

I would like to bump this, as I also had same problem and the guide in website lacked this information at the starting section. Later on it was mentioned in the second paragraph, but in other context.

So "Taverley herblore shop, upstairs, speak to Sanfew" should be supplemented with "and if he does not give the quest, then you must go and rescue Eadgar from troll prison".

EDIT: Here is proof. If he is not rescued quest does not show up in the ingame list with filter turned on and Sanfew will just say something about not yet time.

EDIT2: Just to clarify this picture is taken from another account, so all the other requirements were met.

Okay, we had this info in step 2 of the guide:

"If he is not in his cave, he might have been captured. If this is the case, you'll have to go to the jail and pickpocket the troll guard Twig or Berry (like in Troll Stronghold Quest) and free Eadgar, then return to his cave and talk with him."

Sounds like we need to move this info up to step 1. Thanks for the proof pic, that is SOOOO great! <3:
