Several Runescape Upgrade Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reading my post. I have some interesting suggestions for some new upgrades of RuneScape. Some are all basic and other more in-depth.

First of all I want to ask you a favour: As I am non-member, I cannot post these suggestions in the official RuneScape.com Forum for suggestions. I want to ask you to be so kind (if you are member) to post this post in the official Forum, so that a Mod could read it. Thanks.

So lets come to the essential:

1. So my first suggestion is that non-member should have limited access to the RuneScape.com Forums. It is very kind of the new Head of RuneScape to write he wants to hear the suggestions from the players, when there is nowhere to post it!

A possible solution would be to give access to high-leveller only.

2. Upgrade: I thought of, that it would be very nice to have a fast "Prayer"-button next to the run button near the minimap, which activates the last used prayer. This is very handy when in battle, because you have to eat food and use prayer at same time.

3. I have always wondered why there isn't any "Smelt-All" Button, when smelting ores to bars in a furnace.

4. A big upgrade would be offline-messaging: You can write something to a player, even if he/she is offline. RuneScape would save the message for maximum 1 day and deliver it to the player, when he/she comes online. After 1 day, it deletes (so that servers aren't overfilled).

5. An Upgrade to the Low Detail: So that you can have a little bit bigger game-screen, without increasing the whole game-play, you should be able to hide the chat box exactly like in high-detail.

6. An upgrade more to the chat-system: When I high-detail, and you have hidden the chat box, you aren't able to write anything, without un-hiding the chat boy again. This is sometimes very annoying, when you just want to say "Hi." or something. Therefore I suggest that the players should be able to write, without having to un-hide the chat box.

7. Now they've just come with an upgrade to the magic-interface, where you can sort the spells in categories. What about the Prayer-Interface? You should be able to sort that too...

8. I have read somewhere that they plan to do some weather in RuneScape: Now I have a suggestion for that too. Because there are some player who wouldn't be too please with weather because they don't want it, while other players would like it. That's why I thought of Weather-Themed-Worlds. A whole world where it rains, another one with snow, one more with autumn-like colours. This would be a major-feature.

9. When smelting bars in a furnace or woodcutting you get bars respectively logs without having to click the whole time. But when you get a new level, the little windows in bottom right appears telling you, you have reached a new level. This was an update some month ago and I think it is really nice! But the little message interrupts whatever you are doing. That shouldn't be. You should continue to smelt bars or cut your trees without interruption, when you get up a level. Later, when you finished, you can click the flashing symbol and and and...

10. My last but also biggest suggestion for the moment: An In-Game Manual! When I am going around in RuneScape and think of training something, I often want to know how much XP a specific thing gives you. But to look this after I have to open a new Browser Tab and go to the Homepage to look how much XP this task gives me. With the upgrade of price check, I think this would be an appropriate new upgrade. When clicking on a specific skill in the skill window, say Woodcutting you get to the nice arranged window saying at which level you can do what. Now I see "60 - Yew". Now I wish I could click on this and then there would come "Yew - 175 XP"

So that would be it for now. Ill post my new idea as soon as I get them.

Forums: That's going to happen. Well, it is on FunOrb this week, I believe Runescape will follow in the future.

2. Not a bad idea.

3. There is. I think.

4. I think they'd have to upgrade the systems for that. Runescape can't handle a clan list, let alone a mail system for player to player.

5. The game would look really bad full screen on low detail.

6. Yes

7. How would you want it sorted?

8. Or they could have weather in a graphics option. Why does everything need themed worlds? Why should I have to play on a certain world because my computer runs better than others? This is the same as people saying we should have HD worlds before that came out, it makes absolutely no sense. Put it in the graphics options.

9. Fishing has this without taking away the window. I don't see why not.

10: Hmm

A possible solution would be to give access to high-leveller only.

I've got a debate on this one --- I wouldn't mind being able to post my mage suggestions.

2. Upgrade: I thought of, that it would be very nice to have a fast "Prayer"-button next to the run button near the minimap, which activates the last used prayer. This is very handy when in battle, because you have to eat food and use prayer at same time.

I came up with this independently. It's fallen to the bottom of the pile

3. I have always wondered why there isn't any "Smelt-All" Button, when smelting ores to bars in a furnace.

Smelt-x isn't good enough? I just wish it'd be easier like cooking... automatically comes up with the option.

4. A big upgrade would be offline-messaging: You can write something to a player, even if he/she is offline. RuneScape would save the message for maximum 1 day and deliver it to the player, when he/she comes online. After 1 day, it deletes (so that servers aren't overfilled).

Eh, maybe. One message at a time...

5. An Upgrade to the Low Detail: So that you can have a little bit bigger game-screen, without increasing the whole game-play, you should be able to hide the chat box exactly like in high-detail.

or just a bigger low detail option would be nice...

7. Now they've just come with an upgrade to the magic-interface, where you can sort the spells in categories. What about the Prayer-Interface? You should be able to sort that too...

or hide inapplicable prayers?

8. I have read somewhere that they plan to do some weather in RuneScape: Now I have a suggestion for that too. Because there are some player who wouldn't be too please with weather because they don't want it, while other players would like it. That's why I thought of Weather-Themed-Worlds. I could care less about this one...

its only annoying for 2 seconds.

OK I understand your comments. I got one more suggestions, perhaps not a bad one:

11. New Random Event: When just doing normal everyday whatever-doing you get "confused" and your view turns around. This would be a big stop for macroing but not very annoying for your playing.

8. Or they could have weather in a graphics option. Why does everything need themed worlds? Why should I have to play on a certain world because my computer runs better than others? This is the same as people saying we should have HD worlds before that came out, it makes absolutely no sense. Put it in the graphics options.

That is now a REALLY good suggestion! Put weather in the graphic options. Why didn't I think of that? :-)

It would take a bot programmer about ten minutes to get around that, if even that long. All it would do is annoy legit players while bots would just switch to inverted mode and continue onward.

  • 2 weeks later...

You see that? They actually did do some of these suggestions... I don't know if it was from me or from others but thats really cool. They made:

2. A fast prayer button. \'

10. And a first step in direction of what i would call an ingame manual: Prepurchase Advice.

1. The high-level sub forum availiable to f2p is a good idea, but nowhere else in the forums. It's bad enough.

2. Done!

3. Sure, good idea.

4. Good idea, but in order for this to be reasonably effective, you should be able to type three lines.

5. I've heard full-screen and stretchy-screen low detail is on its way.

6. I'd like to see what I'm typing, so maybe if you type any letter the little bar which tells you what you're about to say appears until you hit 'enter' or delete the text? Otherwise, good idea!

7. Maybe. I don't think there's enough prayers to make finding the one you want too difficult. It's very visual and the icons are large compared to magic.

8. That should be a graphics option. There's a lot of things that can be done with weather, and it's probably already being considered.

9. Good idea.

10. And put tip.it out of the job? Just kidding. I like this idea. If you really want some quick info, I suggest downloading the Tip.It Microhelper.
