Avid43
Hi, I'm really confused about the 2 types of Tool rewards you can get from Stealing Creation... Can some one please explain to me the differences between the Volatile and Morphic tools, if for example I wanted to level crafting (I have level 83) then what is the best thing I can do to get the best xp for the time I have to put into the minigame... Cheers...
Sportz
The volatile tool, as the name suggests, can be turned into any tool at random. The tool, when activated, will randomly turn into one of the seven tools (hatchet, butterfly net, hammer, harpoon, knife, needle or pickaxe). While using the tools, you will gain double the amount of normal experience. The volatile tool will stay in that shape for a certain number of uses (based on your level in the specific skill the tool requires) before it reverts back to its original state. The tool will revert to its original state ten times before it needs to be recharged. The Morphic tool works the same way as the Volatile too, except the player gets to choose what it becomes. Like the volatile tool, the morphic tool rewards double the amount of experience when used. The tool will stay in the same shape until the charge is used up. The charge drains as it is used (based on your level in the specific skill the tool requires). However, the morphic tool drains slightly faster than the volatile tool. ^^ Taken from Zybez July 28, 2009 - 9817 to 99 HunterMarch 14, 2010 - 27,605 to 99 FishingJune 26, 2010 - 2000 Total Levels ReachedAugust 19, 2011 - 26,541 to 99 MiningMarch 29,2012 - 2200 Total Levels ReachedMarch 27, 2013 - All skills 85+
Avid43
So basically the Morphic Tool last a smaller amount of time that the Volatile tool but you can choose which ever you want the Morphic Tool to be and the Volatile is random... I think I get that bit now... Is there any data anywhere on how long the tools last depending on level or is it totally random... Basically, say if I wanted to go from 83 to 90 Crafting is there anyway to work out how many tools I would roughly need?... Cheers...
ddaanniiellh
Each one lasts for a specific amount of xp (Depending on the skill). I don't know the numbers, but you can probably find them if you looked hard enough. Or...you could try one out and see how long it lasts for and divide the xp you gained by 2, that'll give you how much xp you gained extra from the sc tool. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube! Knotch_Blade
Never get Volatile tools, ever. http://tip.it/runescape/?page=crafting_calc.htm Click Morphic/Volatile Tools in the pull down menu. To find out how many of "x" you're going to need to make. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Sacred_clay_needle gives you a general idea of how many needles you'll need, round down if needs be. Then get the experience you need; divide by the experience you'll gain with the needle. Make sure you use the whole experience you get per needle, and not just the additional in your calculations. ~Knotch My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
Hoopster211
Just here to tell you that Morphic is the better choice, by far The only reason you would use volatile is if you don't care which of the 7 or 8 skills you'll be training.
