Fastest 99 Smithing?

I am currently 71 Smithing. However, I was talking to a player with 99 Smithing and he said it cost him 70M. He did Adament Platebodies.

Now, I have always been about money, not really levels. Although I recently obtained 99 in: Hitpoints, Strength, Cooking and Fletching. Sure I can kind of brag about Hitpoints... However I was hoping for a rarer, expensive 99 to show my wealth.

99 Smithing seems to be fast and somewhat rare, from what I've heard. As I said earlier, I was told it was 70M (Without hammers from Stealing Creations). What would you recommend I smith to get 99 Smithing? Cost isn't exactly an issue, but of course if it's cheap (And not too much longer) it is preferred.

I would go for Herblore or Crafting, but I see more of those then Smithing so... :).

Thanks in advance,

Sk8er700.

99 smithing cost me about 40m WITH SC hammers starting from level 74. I made adamant bolts (I've heard that arrowheads are good too, but I don't know how well they sell on the GE. Bolts sell really well) until level 88 and then made adamant platebodies.

Alright. Hopefully I can find a method not too expensive. I might be getting 99 Herblore after Smithing, so I'm gonna need some money to keep going after Herblore. :P.

If anyone can think of anything, I'm all ears. :).

EDIT: Btw, Tripsis, how long did it take?

Yeah herblore is even more expensive ;)

I believe that the absolute fastest way is superheating gold. At least it was once upon a time, so I'm pretty sure it still is now :P But it is pretty darn expensive.

EDIT: Btw, Tripsis, how long did it take?

Well the total time, including making the 40m, playing SC for hammers, and getting the levels, it took like one month, or a month and a half. But the XP per hour (WITH SC hammers, so it will be half this without them) was like.. maybe 150k xp per hour with bolts and easily 400k+ with platebodies.

Do you think if I got to 85 mining with 99 Smithing, that would be good money making?

If you could add me in-game, I'd appreciate it. My user is, of course, Sk8er700. Just in case I need come pointers or some tips along the way?

I currently merchant and make a good 1.5 - 2M every 15 minutes playing... But I think making money from skills and upping skills is a lot more satisfying. I want to get away from merchanting.

Thanks!

BLAST FURNACE until it gets boring/slow, then do adamant arrowtips. The loss on addy platebodies is alot and should only be done if you can make a definate 700k per hour.

At 91 (i think) you can make rune scimis. they seem good ;p

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Do you mean if you got 85 mining and then used that to pay for 99 smithing? Or if you got 85 mining and then used that to mine your own ore to smith your own rune? Because I'm pretty sure that you're usually better off selling the ore rather than smithing it. There may be a few rune items that you can make and earn a few more gp on than if you sold the ore, but I think they're harder to sell on the GE than plain ore. If that makes sense.. but I have heard that rune mining is pretty good. I haven't done it myself, but I know a few people who use it as their main money-making method and can sometimes earn 800k-1m per hour if they get lucky/focus 100%.

My PM is off like 95% of the time because I do a lot of skills that require my full attention and I find it difficult to talk while I do them. But you are always welcome to send me a PM on Tip.it and I'll help you as best I can :)

I figured as much. :(.

The reason I asked was if I could make good money from it after getting 99 Smithing, I wouldn't care how much I spend at all.I wanted to have at least 100M spendable cash after getting Smithing and Herblore (TO merch if I need to). I'm just shy of it. >.<
