Gbpackers31
I decided to download GIMP a few weeks ago, and I've been experimenting with it for some time. I was hoping for some comments on my work that I've done recently... I haven't actually followed a tutorial to make a signature yet. Instead, I've looked at a few, watched some YouTube videos on it, and incorporated some of the methods into my work. Well, anyway, here they are :? #1 My first work in GIMP. Here, I was mainly just messing around. I had no idea what I was doing ( ), and created everything under one layer... #2 This piece is mainly just smudging :? At the time, i did not know of anything to do or put in it, so I just smudged something out... Also saved as one layer... #3 I don't really like this piece at all, but I just decided to include it. I tried out the path tool, and failed miserably. Text is also bleh. Also saved this as one layer... #4 My first signature where I put a fractal in. However, I dont really like it anymore. It's ugly to me (as well as you Im sure). At the time, I was quite proud of it, though :) #5 Again, I do no really like this piece at all, but I just decided to include it. #6 Here is one I just worked up the other day. I tried to flow, however, I think I failed. The right side has some lines going the opposite direction -.- #7 These two I made the other day as well. I personally like them. Of course, I dont have high standards like everyone else does ;) Of the two, though, my favorite is the plain red... #8 Not too sure about this one. I recently made it. To be honest, I was just messing around with some brushes I just recently downloaded. I then played with filters and got a cool background on the default size canvas. So, I decided to try something, and, well, this is the result :P #9 Again, made recently. I really like this piece, but I'm not sure how everyone feels about it. Personally, i like the black and white one with the red at the top better than the colored one... #10 Made 4 different versions of this piece, and I'm not sure which I like best. To me, the text is sort of bleh, though.... #11 Here is one with 2 different versions. And again, I'm not sure which is the better of the two.... #12 Here is my first attempt at a sprite signature. I wanted to test out the path tool and neon, seeing as how i read up on a tutorial on both. Personally, I like the second of the two the best.... So, What do you think? I appreciate all Comments and criticisms, but please don't flame : EDIT: Here's my new work so far: #13 (unlucky :uhh: ) #14 #15 #16 #17 :D
Estonian dude
When I read the title, I thought I would see yet another ugly wannabe signature. Well, I thought wrong. It's nice to see how much you have improved in a couple of days, keep it up! You already know where to find tutorials, good for you. Right now all I have to say is that learn a little more about C4D's right now, on a couple of pics you have piled them on like Ham on a Cheese roll. I wanna see more from you soon! So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.I strike out every other week.Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.Randox pretty much stays rational.Etc, etc

Thanks for your comments  Im going to try to limit my use of C4D's. It's extremely hard though because they just look so darn cool :) But I'm going to try to. As I read more tutorials and learn new techniques, I shouldn't be so reliant on them to add to the signature seeing as I have alternative methods. So, I need to learn, learn, learn! :
Ouchy
C4D really do help you, if used correctly ;) But these are all wonderful tags, I look forward to seeing your progress :D My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
Gbpackers31
Alright. Here is my first attempt today. I made four differrent versions :? So, did I do a better job with the C4D's? I fear that I put them like ham on a cheese roll again :( What do you think?
Gbpackers31
Sorry for the double post, but I wasn't sure if this post should just be an edit to my previous. Anyway, new piece I just created... I personally like this one (especially the 1st of the two versions) I like the colors. Plus, I think I did a good job limiting my C4D use : But of course, I'll wait for a judge to see about that. EDIT: I noticed that lightning was a little pixelated -.- So, i tried something. However, I had to change the lighting a little as it was a little too bright when I fixed the pixelation. So anyway, here's another version: i don't like the lighting as much... Gbpackers31
Alright, here's my latest that I whipped up: What do you think about this one? I couldn't decide on a border, though, so I made two. I didn't use a C4D on this one. i had one but I felt it looked better without it. What do you think? So both you and Ouchy (and Sallaste) agree that I need to use C4D's, but make them more effective....hmmmm... I'm going to need to read some more tutorials on this! I have a question about C4D's though: How do you go about using them? Like, in my case, most of my C4D's I've used in my pieces are set to Overlay, and I try to blend them into the background usually. That's not how you're supposed to use them, right? Anyway, here's my latest piece, #16: I made these prior to reading tutorials, though. I just thought to post them here. Next tag, I'll try to do my best to incorporate better C4D use :
Gbpackers31
Alright, so i tried to use C4D's... Yeah, not sure if it turned out right. Here it is: It's kind of blurry. Not sure. I was reading a tutorial about some of the stuff in that tag, though :? My execution is horrible though..
