What program did you make it in? Imho the bars for the icons are a cool idea, the only thing that needs changing is the colour scheme, maybe a little lighter perhaps?

I used PS.

 

 

 

And I like the dark scheme. Bright colors on the desktop get kind of annoying. The darkness kind of dims the details and you have to really look to see anything (there's nothing hidden in there, though). There is a giant "J" on the right side- for my name. :)

I agree with littleboy. It works pretty well, I just don't like the colour scheme. The darkness is ok IMO, but I'm not a fan of the red. Maybe just go for B&W?

Inspired by Quake III ? I see you play it :)

Q3 is great just to load up a game and blow away some bots with the rocket launcher. :)

I was actually inspired by a desktop I've seen posted here in the desktop thread. It had vertical bars, each contained one app in the Adobe Suite. I wanted to go for something like that, just not so bright.

 

 

 

Oh and Jopie.. I tried black and white and it didn't really look all that well. It may be the way I'm doing it (editing hue/saturation and color balance).. I may be doing it wrong. I'm not well versed in PS.
