Icer
I was completing the Roving Elves quest, I was in Glarial's Tomb, and I thought about how similar this is to the Lost City quest, how you need to kill zombies to get an axe to cut from the Dramen tree. Then I thought about the zombies and skeletons in Glarial's tomb, and how they might drop weapons, too. So I started killing, and sure enough, a level 24 zombie dropped an IRON MACE! Whoopee! So I used that to kill the moss giant, instead, and I think I did much better then I would have if I had just used nothing at all. Theoretically, you could get even better drops from those zombies, making it easier to complete the quest. In fact, Perhaps you could fletch your own armor INSIDE the tomb? NEW info: Fletching is impossible in the tomb, and it appears that a combat bracelet can be taken in, as it does not count as armor.
Icer
Might be good to add some of this to the actual guide to Roving Elves. To date, that's the only quest that requires combat inside the tomb.
pokemama
I can confirm this, I did the same thing way back when I did the quest. Think I only got an axe, but it was better than nothing. However, fighting the moss giants isn't necessary afaik - just run to the two areas and get r done. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. krogiecom
On the contrary, the moss giants must be fought during Roving Elves to obtain the consecration seed. Additionally, it is possible to wear a combat bracelet (with its associated offensive and defensive bonuses) within the tomb, as it does not count as armour. This may be worth adding to the notes. Icer
Thanks for the updates guys, I'll keep doing research, see if I can find anything else out.
pokemama
A crewbie tested this and was unable to bring anything combat-related into the tomb. He tried crafting and fletching and combat bracelet. Getting a weapon off zombies seemed to be a good idea at first, but with the limitations and my character level at the time, the HP I lost getting one was more than the weapon saved me when attacking. They only drop very weak items. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
