I am having a big problem making a siggy, I cant get the the pixels even close to the right amount that is aloud here. I seem to get get like 900x600 and about 50kb, I look at other siggys and they are way bigger than mine, I will post the picture if you want me too. Btw, probably its because im really not sure what pixels is. Any help would be appreciated.

Try searching for Graphics Gale, mind you download the free version, that will help, or a little amature trick I use in paint is to completely shrink the canvas, then copy and paste a sig that has the correct sizes, and white it out, whallah, save it as a template.

Dude, Alt, you can just find the corner and drag it in, watch the bottom of the screen and it should tell you what your dimensions are while you're dragging

I know, the bottom corner, but whenever I did that, I never got it spot on, dunno why, it's as if MS Paint was laughing at me, still, I though I was being pretty intelligent with my little method.

the signature size limitation for this site is 300x150 so in ms paint just click on image at the top (along with File edit and view) and then go on attributes and you can set the screen size to 300 length and 150 height (look at the thumnails above :) ).. just draw on that size until you've done something pretty decent and save it as a PNG format, only a png format cus it maintains the quality and keeps at a good filesize (jpg distorts it, bmp makes it a giant filesize and a gif on paint makes the picture loose colours and you dont want that :S).

Go to http://www.imageshack.us to host the signature and after youve browsed the saved PNG file signature copy this over into your profile or into any forum post to show the image.

Of course there are a load of tutorials and threads about how to do all this, try http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=100097 good info there and some tutorial links at the bottom..

Hope I helped :?

Ok this is one term that anyone doing any type of cg graphics needs to know.

Pixels are the dots that make up the image. A computer doesnt read image as a whole, but rather as tiny little dots each a seperate color. All graphics you see on your monitor are made of pixels. Resolution is the amount of pixel in that are Ex. 800 x 600 means a grid of 800 pixels in length 600 width.

So the total pixels to fill that area would be 480,000(800 x 600). Which is a very low resolution and will produce lower quality images and if your monitor is set to that then everything will be big. Set it to something like 1280 x 960 (my montior) The quality will greatly increase as i can hold more colors and detail. And with your monitor set to that things will appear smaller (such as text, and icons, blah blah).

If im confusing you, which most likely I am just google the word pixel.

Now MsPaint is fine for pixel and isometric sigs, which have a kind of cartoony feel. But for these other types youll need something like Adobe Photoshop (couple hundred $$$$) or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. Possibly even a 3d modeling program such as 3ds max, maya, or bryce.

for landscapes you can use the free terragen. To find the download just google it.
