RS crashing for unknown reason, HELP!

I don't know why I'm posting this when I know it will get 5 views, and 0 replies :wall:, but I have no were else to go so *crosses fingers*.

This problem started during December of last year after a Java update (I had the time of the pegged down to the hour, but its been so long I forgot).

I believe it is a Java issue because I have tried to run RS in several browsers (Firefox, IE, Netscape), and the problem happens the same in all of them.

Okay here is what happens: After playing a wile I experience memory [bleep]es (I saw this addressed in another thread), but there was no problem other then lag for a very brief period. The cruiser would change into a hourglass then the browser window would become white for a second then refresh, and I was back to playing... that was until after the Java update.

Now When the screen refreshes the banner add (if I'm in F2P, I had this start 3 days before I lost mem it happened when I was a mem also), and Jagex header are all that remains active.

The game window is either all white or is frozen (if its frozen I can scroll up and down and cause the image to smear in the Java window) also if I mouse over the Java tray icon it will vanish. Also there is no error reports of any kind. Oh and some times it happens with no lag at all, just a quick white flash, then crash.

I was hoping that a Java update would fix this because one seemed to cause this, but no.

I have updated both Java and my browser.

I have tried several browsers

I have tried all the various Java settings on the Java settings page on RS, I have cleared all cookies, I have cleared my Java cache, I have turned off all plug ins, and I have turned on/off various Java versions. All did NOTHING

I play in Low detail by the way.

I have the same problem aswell... the screen goes white and when I refresh it goes black

Well I meant the window refreshes not the page (this happens in all games most refresh 60 time a second)

Hmm, I might make a vid.

Have you tried waiting a few seconds to see if it returns to normal? Because mine used to. Also do you still have the Java tray Icon?

Alright, no help yet -.-

So I'll wipe Java of my comp then reinstall it. Just one problem: I can't find it on the ADD/REMOVE programes list, and I don't just want to start deleting components and miss something.

Before I delve too far into this, is 192MB ALL of the memory you have? If it is, we might've solved this mystery already. If it's the video memory, go ahead and tell me the rest of the system memory (not paging file).

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Jagex might have also upped the engine to use more memory. I'm assuming that, since the development of RSHD, few people play in SD with under 256MB of RAM. Just a theory.

No this happened a wile after the RSHD release, I could even play in HD with a small amount of lag.

I have my total paging file size for all drives to 427MB, so I never had a RAM problem before.

Here is a screen shot of task manger right after a crash.

You can see the exact point that the crash happened in the graphs.

Notice I still have around 10% left for processioning, and 200 MB left in RAM.

The banner add changed about 6 minutes after the crash as is nothing was wrong. I could still use the header to. I have not moused over the tray icon yet in the pic.

The reason why I'm running 800 by 600 is a long story, don't ask.

Add uninstalling Java then reinstalling it to the failed list.

I have found out that I may not be the only one with this problem.

On ROSF http://[Please Use QuickFind Code].com/c=ql3o2FMlD0Q/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?25,26,292,58656488

The problem is with both Low quality and HD

Well this has been going on for 4 months and is pretty much the reason why I've basically quit Runescape. So far I've found no solutions to my problem anywhere on the internet.

So let me re-explain.

So during November or December of last year Java popped up when I turned my computer on and asked me to download the latest update (Java 6.10). So I did, so I log into Runescape later on. Go pking on PvP worlds (As that is all I did back then) when suddenly the Java console disappear and Runescape white screened. So I thought nothing of it until it happened again, and again, and again. Son now we are in January where it has gotten to the point where I can't even log in without Disconnecting and white screening.

So now Java 6.12 (I missed 6.11 due to being on Holidays) comes out. I downloaded hoping it would solve the problem and it did not.

Basically the problem is, Java is able to shut itself down causing Runescape to close down at the same time (No Java = No Runescape).

Does anyone have a clue what the problem is, as I haven't gotten a single answer in four - five months and I was hoping someone knew what it was :|
