Klugsi
Are there any suggestion for Waterfiends in Chaos Tunnels - do u just get owned there? or is it possible to do good trips? i have 96 Summoning - so what should i take? Iron Titan, Pack Yak or Unicorn? Do Barrages or Chins hit good or do u use normal waterfiends gear? Thanks,
Johannas
You get owned, it's all multi combat and you will have like 5 of them on you at one time Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

JoeDaStudd
Theres still no decent way of killing them. People have tried blood bursts/barrages, chins and the best melee gear they still had issues. The only reasonable way to kill them would be 3 or 4 man teaming. Tried many times with a bunyip and a tortoise plus decent melee equipment and you spend most of the time eating to hit them. Chinning was even more of a diasaster, as the same problem occurs. I have never tried ancient magiks - a combination of bursting and blood spells might work... :-k Try it  Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig! meb
If you're going to ancient you might as well kill rock lobsters... Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. pureprayer
There is a way... AI. Waterfiends Amount assigned: Duradel, 130-200 Hitpoints: 128 Locations: Chaos Tunnels, Ancient Cavern Approximate charm drop percentages- Gold: 10% Green: 5% Crimson: 80% Blue: 2% Summoning to Slayer xp: 2.00 to 2.61 As you can see, Waterfiends are an extremely good dropper of Crimson charms. They attack with both magic and range. The ones in the Ancient Cavern are single combat, and the ones in the Chaos Tunnels are multicombat. The Chaos Tunnels are very seldom used for Waterfiends because more than one will attack you at the same time. However, the Chaos Tunnels are a good choice for people who can use a Steel Titan. First I will describe the Ancient Cavern method though. First off, waterfiends are very weak to crush attacks, and have very high slash defence, so an Abyssal Whip is not nearly the best weapon. There are three weapon choices, and from best to worst, they are: Saradomin Sword, any Godsword, and a Zamorak Spear. If you do not have any of those weapons, I suggest you just use a whip. It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be and is a better choice than Veracs flail, an Anchor, or Torags Hammers. You should wear Karils top and bottom which will give you defence against the Waterfiends' magic attacks. The range attacks are much more powerful than their magic attacks, so wearing, for example, a Bandos chestplate and tassets and praying Protect from Magic is not a good option; you will take far less damage by wearing Karils and praying Protect from Range. Even if not using a Protect Prayer, you should wear Karils. The fastest place to kill Waterfiends in the Ancient Cavern is on the west side of the water, and near the middle as opposed to the north or the south. You should only need 2 spawns to get maximum speed. While going there, be sure to pray Protect from Magic while running past the Brutal Green Dragons. Guthans is not recommended here since it is very quick to get back to the Ancient Cavern. Just teleport to Edgeville, get more supplies, and teleport back to Barbarian Outpost with the Games necklace. Also you probably will be getting most of your healing from your Bunyip or Unicorn Stallion anyway, so you may not even need to use much food. You could also bank at Bounty Hunter using your Games necklace, if you wanted. Suggested inventory- Games necklace (you may wish to drop this if you need room) A teleport (this could just be your Games necklace) Saradomin godsword (if you have one. If not, don't bring a weapon for special attack, except maybe an Armadyl godsword if you happen to have one) Holy wrench 2-3 super attacks 2-3 super strengths 1-2 super defences (if needed) 4-14 prayer pots Food in extra space (Familiar: Bunyip or Unicorn Stallion) In general, you will pray Protect from Range if you do not have a healing familiar, and you will not use a protect prayer if you have a healing familiar. With maxed stats, a Saradomin Sword, and no banking during the task, the Superhuman Strength method gives about 165 kills (21k slayer xp) per hour, and the Piety method gives about 180 kills (23k slayer xp) per hour. This is equivalent to about 130 and 145 crimson charms per hour, respectively. Now, I would like to discuss an alternative method for Waterfiends, and that is using the Chaos Tunnels. To get to the Waterfiends in the Chaos Tunnels, you go to the room with Earth Warriors and Bronze Dragons just past the Black Demons room, then go into the room with Turoths, then go east and there will be a room with Waterfiends. The room consists of a fairly open west side connected with a fairly open east side by two narrow passages. When you first enter the room, the Waterfiends will be aggressive. If you stay on the west side of the room, a maximum of 6 Waterfiends can attack you at the same time. So you can see why this isn't a very popular location. Yet as it is multicombat, it allows the use of the Steel Titan, if you can use one, which can speed up tasks significantly. If you do not have a Steel Titan, this location will not be very advantageous over the Ancient Cavern, so I'd suggest you don't bother with it. The Waterfiends in the Chaos Tunnels become unaggressive after you are there for 10 minutes 30 seconds. However, they will become aggressive again if you get taken away by a random, which happens quite often. Them being aggressive is a good thing is some ways, however. It makes it so you don't have to click as much, and lets the Steel Titan attack more. On the bad side, you will get hit more. Your Steel Titan will take a lot of hits for you but it actually may die after a while. So there are both good things and bad things about them being aggressive. There are two reasonable methods you can use. One method is to take 2 super attacks, 2 super strengths, 13 prayer pots, pineapple pizzas in extra space, a steel titan pouch, and steel of legends scrolls. You bring a pack yak with 10 to 15 pineapple pizzas. At first you kill the Waterfiends just by yourself, keeping Protect from Range on. Heal with pizzas as needed. When the Waterfiends become unaggressive, you dismiss the pack yak and summon your steel titan. Keep Protect from Range on and try to attack just one waterfiend at a time. Stay until you run out of prayer or food. If you get a random and the waterfiends become aggressive again, just keep killing them with your steel titan and stay as long as you can. This method can give up to 150 kills per trip. The second method is to just bring 1 super attack, 1 super strength, 8 prayer pots, and lots of pineapple pizzas, and use steel titan right from the start. This method is a bit faster but gives only up to 100 kills per trip. In either case, you're going to be getting over 25k slayer xp (195 kills) per hour or 155+ crimson charms per hour. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
