April 9, 200917 yr I have 43 attack 41 strength & 41 defense and I wanna get 50 50 45 asap. I thought that training them along with Slayer would be a good idea but it is slowing me down so much. Should I go to the rock crabs instead (you can recommend any other monster) or should I stay with Slayer? Thanks in advance =] I Also forgot to mention that rock crabs drop clue scrolls which I find pretty fun. And are there any quests which give melee xp? I have done dragon slayer, waterfall quest, and vampire slayer. ^dds'er in progress =D
April 9, 200917 yr I recommend staying with slayer, the long term xp and profits you will gain are a lot better and more useful then rock crabs. Plus going and assassinating the monsters your slayer master tells you can be pretty fun when you look at it the right way :P You got a good point but I can train up slayer another day. For now I really want for xp for melee so I can do other things. My slayer is 27 atm which is alright for my level so its not in desperate need of leveling I'm heading to rock crabs now >.< ^dds'er in progress =D

If I were you though, I'd buy 1k, see how far you get, and work out how many you need from there. Cannoning them is cheaper than meleeing them regularly. Time is money. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
April 9, 200917 yr Plus the cannon is a 1-time investment. You aren't paying 600k for 1 task, you are paying 600k for every single task you will ever do in your future. Plus, when you cannon monsters, the cannon isn't used up, so you could sell it later. Therefore, the cannon effectively costs you 0gp, if you look in the long-term. You'd only be paying for 1k cballs then. Cannoning tasks is ALWAYS the best option, trust me. A dagannoth task takes 1 hour-1.5 hours if you don't cannon, but 20 minutes if you do cannon. In the 1 hour you saved, you could make enough money to pay for double, or maybe even triple, the cost of the cballs you used. ~It's Super Effective!
