installation help, bootable usb drive

i have the acer aspire one, with xp and ubuntu and another computer with vista, so any applications for these will work.

 

 

 

my problem is that i have a usb drive and a .iso disk image. i want to boot from the usb. not much else to say, really.

For OSX its illegal and I'm not going to go into it.

But the question is, would it work with Mac OS X too?

 

My guess is actually that it would, since the definition of a bootable drive is just some certain amount of data on the first spaces that ends in some hex signature.
