Grand Tree Demon help

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what level weapon you must have to start doing good damage to the lvl 172 Black Demon in Grand Tree? I've been down there twice - the last time I think I had a ranging lvl 39, mithril cross bow but it may have been steel - and I can find the safe spot behind the rocks, and I keep shooting bolts, but they don't do any damage. I end up having to throw myself on the monster just so I can die and get out of there. It's a bummer because then I lose some good stuff.

My ranging level is a little higher now - 43- What if I went in with a mithril cross bow and mithril bolts, threw some weaken and curse spells and some fire strike spells. What do you think my chances are?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to do it

The guy in this vid only has 46 ranged...

You might be better off with a yew shortbow and rune/addy arrows instead of a slow crossbow with mithril bolts.

Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!

You can safespot the demon, and any spell over firestike should do damage to it.

Use the best xbow you can, with the best bolts you can i guess.

O.O

You should just bring an emergency teleport, don't die to get out. Just bring a teletab. Also what someone said above about maging is a great option. Black demons are easy to kill with magic. GL on quest!

If you've done Shadow of the Storm you can use Darklight's special to weaken it. The special lowers the enemy's attack, strength, and defense and is especially powerful against demons.

I highly doubt he done Shadow of the Storm if he hasn't done The Grande Tree quest.

That's how I did it. I used Darklight as my main weapon fighting the demon for The Grand Tree.

Thank you all very much for your help and advice, especially that about bringing something to teleport! I think I want to do a little more training before I go back.
