Ok, i am about to leave runescape for an extended period of time~6 months. I'm wondering whether I should get a green mask, blue mask or santa hat as a long term investment.

 

 

 

Are these items likely to rise in price in 6 months time.

It will be about November when you get back.. Green masks will already be going down from the Halloween [bleep]e, but Santa's should start to raise in value. So probably a Santa Hat would be a good idea.

Perosonally, I would invest in GP. It's very stable. But if you want a rare to your heart's content, go with a Santa.

I'd stay with GP as to not risk anything, although if possible just get on a few times a week to check prices and maybe merchant a little bit?

 

 

 

If your going to be 'gone' for 6 months then just keep the GP, don't risk it.

i've just invested in 200 rune scimitars instead of santas because it seems santa is on the fall now.

It's quite simple...

 

Rares have become useless.

 

They were used to show off wealth, but besides that there was no other use.

 

Ever since the stronger weapons and armors came around (godswords, spirit shields, stuff like that) people have been able to show off their wealth with items that actually have another use besides showing off.

 

People are now saving up for expensive weapons and armors, not for holiday items.

Their prices are rather unstable, especially with the advent of clan merchanting.

 

 

 

I think a santa would be a relatively safe bet if you can find a buyer before Christmas. If you can't, then you'll probably have to wait another year to avoid losing a lot of money.
