I don't get how the game could be all that scary. When it scares you [cabbage]less, just pause, take a couple deep breaths and remember it's a game.

It just gives you a generall uneasy feeling, there's no part of the game where you can think "I'm safe". Just makes you be on edge. And well, if you pause, it kinda kills the immersion. The whole fun is forgetting it's a game.

Vietnam was lost on the homefront because the public was lead to believe that we were losing. We fought that war based on body count, and do you know how many we killed? 3% of the population(I kinda need to check this but I'm pretty sure that's the statistic). If that happened to us right now, 9 million people would be dead. You can largely blame Walter Cronkite for losing it.

 

The War On Terror is as much an ideological war as it is a combative one, we read in the news "3 soldiers killed by IED". But when was the last time we read "20 Insurgents Got Murked". We build schools, playgrounds, hospitals, we do a lot to help these people. The problem is the uncivilized regions of Afghanistan. These people have lived the same way for hundreds of years and just want to be left alone. I don't blame them, for being upset when a bunch of white guys with guns come into their village and start asking questions, but the problem is they often aid and embed our enemy and we can't seem to make them understand that if they don't WE WON'T BOTHER THEM.

Napalm, I'm all for changing our measurement system. It's just that it wouldn't be worth it in terms of money.
