SeanyTheSailor
So my sister's bf is coming over to eat dinner on Wednesday. I'm trying to think of a reason to get out of the house. I also have a weird feeling that my mom will try to make me stay, which makes no sense, I'm one of those people who usually doesn't contribute much to a visit involving mature company. God dammit Seany, STOP SHARING MY MIND" I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. I'm not going to live there. There's no place for me there... Goonstalf
I think abc is onto something. You should just stay and be as obnoxious as possible without making it too obvious. Try breathing really loudly, accidentally spilling something, staring at her bf until he notices then quickly look away, or eating super sloppily, stuff like that. SeanyTheSailor
What makes music "good"? I feel so lost whenever I see people discussing music :?Obviously it is largely a matter of preference, but I think a fairly large part of it is what you hear when you are young. For instance the song Mambo No 5, everything about it i should dislike, based on my other preferences. However as a kid my dad always used to listen to it, so my liking it was ingrained. Also my mom used to listen to a lot of country, I don't listen too it a lot but I find the general style always seems appealing. I think a person's emotional/personality specifics decide the rest. Like i said earlier I'm not too fond of overly emotional music, but nor am I fond of really heavy metal, I prefer a middle ground. Something with no rhythm whatsoever though I think would be universally hated. God dammit Seany, STOP SHARING MY MIND" I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. Cynic
What makes music "good"? I feel so lost whenever I see people discussing music :? For me, personally, it depends on the talent it took to produce the music. That's why I hate rap; they basically just recite words in rhythm while a generic loop of drum n' bass stuff is playing. Although they might be extremely talented at say, free styling, their "songs" do not show that. For people like Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber, their music is just plain annoying, mostly because of the things they sing about and their voices. Though, I do feel a slight bit of sympathy for them; think of all the hate they see about themselves, and how every little thing they do is ridiculed. Now, personally, I love show tunes, because I know that the people who recorded the songs have actually gone live on a stage and sang it multiple times in front of huge crowds. That takes a lot of talent. Now, I know performers have concerts and tours and whatnot, but most Broadway shows run twice a day, three to five times a week, for sometimes years on end. Wow, I think I correctly used two semicolons in there. EDIT: Also, I take into account how the performer acts in his or her daily life. I despise Lady Gaga, for instance, because she's just too weird for my tastes. I acknowledge that she's talented, but the things she does and wears are ridiculous. I'm an INTJ. Wait...Cynic... Are you a girl?
SeanyTheSailor
On the subject of music and artists I came up with a little joke a while back. If I ever met Chris Brown I'd say this."So you dated Rihanna huh? Yeah, I'd hit that." God dammit Seany, STOP SHARING MY MIND" I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. I will agree Nostalgia has something to do with music, but I know what kind of music my friend and I grew up listening to-90's style pop-and my friend hates listening to that music now. Like, he yelled at me today to change from the 90's station. That, and, all the kids at school are pretty much rap lovers. 90's rap was so much different than today's rap.
