June 4, 200917 yr hey.. i'm trying to make an intro to my youtube vids which will use sound. the "video" portion has been done since last night, however i've spent hours upon hours trying to add sound :wall: :wall: (picture below) i import the sound and if i hit "L L" to view waveform- its valid and its recognized.. i just can't get it to play. could somebody PLEASE tell me how to get it to play? i know its probably a noob question, but i've been searching around for a bit- can't find anything i will be here for about 10 minutes then i'm going for a run. June 4, 200917 yr Author I suggested mp3. Its been a long time since I used after effects. How about making what ever you need to, exporting it and then adding music in vegas or windows movie maker? Also, After Effects shouldn't be used to create a whole video, if thats what your doing. Exmple of an into is on my YT channel: http://www.youtube.com/the1old1live Its the video that is ready to be played. i'll try again. but there are several reasons that i don't want to export it: 1. i'll have to deal with whatever [cabbage]ty quality wmm gives me 2. i cannot cut it at the exact time i want, which can make it sound ridiculous 3. wmm ocassionaly has sycning issues. another reason i want to keep it in Ae is because i can use the music's keyframes to animate things, which i find very cool. i also can export it as whatever type of file i want. June 4, 200917 yr Hmm, strange, the only thing I can suggest is types of audio formats. If that does not work, then perhaps there is some audio problem in the settings? Is the audio file actually playing with no sound? Or is it just being recognized and just sitting there?
