For me in IE9/Win7, the "Start typing.." text disappears when I click. And when I type something, then that remains in the box no matter what I do, such as clicking away from the search box, re-clicking onto the search box, etc. (as it should). Is this what you see? Perhaps you can try other search pages, such as http://open.tip.it/items http://open.tip.it/quests

I'm not sure if it is obvious or if it was mentioned before, but the mobile site is nowhere near a final version. The priority in development is with the desktop version of the site. Ideally, for a mobile version we would use a jquery-based framework to display content across various devices/OS's. As it stands now, the mobile version of the site is quite minimal, but functioning. It was never announced, but merely something put in place for future development.

The black text has been fixed for a while, but unable to be uploaded yet. I'll see what can be done about the skill progress calc.

We've shuffled things around a bit so this should now be all sorted.

I think it should definitely be in the opposite direction, with the item name etc. first. Also I agree that the 'pages > view' part could be removed. Will look into what possibilities there are and whats the best option to choose.

That's called the Equipment Builder http://open.tip.it/items/equipment-builder And to everyone sharing ideas on adding item sets to the Item Compare, it's being looked into but definetly can't be a priority at the moment. It'd be good to have it on both the Item Compare and the Equipment Builder I guess, regardless of how much of a need it would be. Thanks everyone for the suggestion :)

That would be really cool, but sadly it seems like things are getting worse and worse for Mozilla - hopefully they can turn it around. But this is a good way for Jagex to make players use a modern browser; their new site relies heavily on a lot of new stuff.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by your first point, can you show a screenshot? And they should all be aligned in unison, but that looks odd so I didn't do it like that.

We started this design over two years ago using fluid css grids. When we started to test some older, crappy browsers (specifically IE6 and IE7), it became nearly impossible to make things work without using tables. But now, 2 years on, we have technically dropped IE6 and IE7 support but we still kept the table structure. I don't think it'd be too hard to go back to not using tables, so maybe in the near future. And of course, I would also really prefer not to use tables in the layout :), but it had to be done back then.

If monster hunting is one of the more popular TET events, how about the combat-based minigames? I know I always used to want to attend the big Castle Wars events, they were always fun.

We of course know about all the styling issues with menus. They are all in the process of being converted over to a new format, but this takes a bit of time (and it's a bit boring!). What do you mean searching? Searching the front page with your eyes or using the search box? I'm guessing it's the former...I'll see what I can do.

I've set a max-width to 800px to make things easier to read on large resolutions, will be online soon. Also essiw, your gamma levels or something are way off...surely all websites look strange to you? Your screenshot is waay off-colour, the whole website looks much too light.

Yes they should be swapped for sure, just a mistake (I vaguely remember re-arranging it some time recently, must have done it by accident).
