UPDATE - SPOTS FILLED:

Thanks to everyone for their interest and enthusiasm! Right now all of our team spots have been filled. However, everyone is welcome to attend our public events and we may be recruiting again in the future. Keep an eye out for our announcements!

Because of the direction the community has taken in recent years, the Tip.It Staff is thinking about completely restructuring TET into an official Tip.It Monster Hunting Team. A few months ago we announced that TET would start putting more emphasis on monster hunting in their events, but we feel that more should be done to transition TET into a team fully dedicated to monster hunting. If there is enough interest from the community, we will completely rebuild TET from the ground up to accommodate this change. Right now, we are simply trying to determine if there is enough interest from the community. That's where you come in!

Are you a monster hunter?

In order to make this team successful, we need monster hunters! Our team will be composed of people who love monster hunting and set up events to kill bosses (God Wars, Corporeal Beasts, Nex, Tormented Demons, etc.) or raid dungeons with our community. The team members will be responsible for hosting the monster hunts, instructing others on what to do, and ensuring that the hunt is successful. At the moment, we do not have a defined set of requirements for these monster hunters and we would love to hear from anyone who is interested. If this is successful, later on we might impose some kind of skill requirements.
Let us know if you're interested!

If you think you might be interested in leading monster hunts, please send me a private message with your name, a few sentences about why you're interested, and any ideas you may have for the team. At the moment there is no strict application form since we're just trying to get a sense of how many people are interested and who those people might be.
Who can "apply?"

Anyone may submit their name if they're interested! It does not matter if you are already a part of staff (moderator, crew, etc.) or have a "bad" history on the forum. At this point, a history of breaking the forum rules will have very little impact on whether or not you are considered a good candidate for the team. We're mostly looking for people with a strong interest in monster hunting, decent monster hunting skills, and good leadership abilities. So if you have applied for TET in a monster hunting capacity in the past but were unsuccessful, please submit your name anyway!
Questions or ideas?

If you have any questions or ideas about this change, please feel free to post here or PM me directly. :)
If we feel that we have enough interest, we will contact our promising candidates with more information and keep the rest of the community updated and informed!

Tch... I got a better idea, Tripsis. Instead of TET just becoming concentrated on one thing, split them into two teams! Make part into a TPT (Tip.It Party Team) and the other part into a TMHT (Tip.It Monster-Hunting Team) in order to handle both crowd-types of players. I really liked when the TET did many different, wacky, party-type things, and before one of the PCs here went down, I would even jump in on some of those events. (Dang, I miss being able to get in due to IRL issues! Why did you have to remind me?!?!?) :shades:

Or have we totally run out of party-loving people in the TET?

The community in general is not very interested in the "party" type events, which is why we are moving away from that. There are a few people who are interested, but not enough to justify dedicating an entire team to those kinds of events. Honestly, our attendance numbers speak for themselves. Party type events almost always get <10 attendees (often ~6). Monster hunts usually get 30-150.

What about experience?

I would be interested in this (in a participatory way, not necessarily organising it), but I have no real experience of monster hunting. I'm guessing this is the stage of the process where you're looking for people to lead the new teams, and those who aren't as committed/only interested in the actual activity will be given an open invite to join at a later stage.

For what it's worth, I think this is an excellent idea which should've been adopted years ago, the issue of TET parties aside.

Well right now we're looking for leaders who can be the ones who organize monster hunts and get things off the ground. Once we have a core group of people, we'll likely do a lot of discussing and figure out how we want to proceed and set everything up from there. So if you're only interested in participating, stay tuned and you'll find out more if/after this is implemented and starts moving :)

From an old timers point of view this is so disappointing to see... TET have always pulled through tough times. This as good as im sure it will be - im just very disheartened to see it actually happen.

I would like to, but I'm pretty busy with college at times. :(

Hope you get some good people though. :)

Don't look at it as a defeat, look at it as a rebirth. If only I had the time to dedicate. I always liked hosting Monster Hunting Events more then Party events. :P

great to see TET going in this direction, seeing as how popular the MH events tend to be :) One question, will occasional different events (such as say Christmas or Halloween) still be planned or will it be completely pure MH now?

Unless we partner up and do a multi-fansite thing, we most likely won't have any holiday events in the future. If we do, it will likely be a staff member or regular user planning something on his/her own and then we'd advertise it on the main page.

It's a shame that TET has retired to this, but with Runescape as it is now, It wouldn't hurt for a fresh change, and was an honour working for the events team.

My only question: What will become of TETAU? Will it follow the same path or will it be disbanded?

I'd be fairly interested in this, but my only question is: When would the usual sort of event take place? Around the same time as normal TET events previously, Saturday at 9 P.M. GMT?

Times change, just have to adapt. Good luck in the restructure. Many blessings to you all.
