That's the best idea. I'm pretty sure also (and this is for RS and RSOF too) that if you censor words manually it's fine as well.

 

 

 

Saying s**t, for example. I mean, newspapers and periodicals do that, and they have readers under 13. Logically, it should be ok, and legally, you aren't ACTUALLY saying the word. You're only implying it. Saying s**t is just the same as saying [cabbage], except the reader is clearer about which word you mean.

 

 

 

I like to call it manual censoring, and I'm pretty sure a Player Mod in-game told me it was fine. So I would assume it's a good-to-go on Tif and Rsof.

You can use these anytime if it's not censored, even if you are flaming. If you are banned, it's more likely because you were flaming, not because you said Damn.

 

 

 

But to be honest, I would relax if I were you. Use any language you please here, just don't direct it at anyone else (eg. flaming). If you do that, anything you said would generally be ok. And even if you do let something slip, you most likely won't get banned as long as you keep your cool in your post. You should worry more about losing your temper and flaming than saying an offensive word once or twice.

Just say what you want, but bear this in mind.

I was just addressing that example, then. As I said before, you really don't need to fear using offensive language. If it isn't blocked, it's good to go and you could also censor manually.

Also bear in mind it's a G rated forum, so alot of people don't want to read your profanities.

 

In my opinion, if it's a commonly used phrase like the ones you mentioned - then it's fine.

 

 

 

I do have a problem with people saying OMFGGGGGGGG and WTF dude, since the intentions behind those abbreviations are censored - Mods don't seem to mind them too much, i try to avoid them as much as possible though.
