I've just gotten 50 range (big patience achievement for me) and I was wondering what the best training monster + weapon is for my level? I know yaks + knives are good but I've only got a cash pile of 200k, so how far would that get me for yaks or (insert monster + weapon here)?

If money/boredom are issues for you I can recommend getting slayer assignments and range whichever creatures you can.

 

 

 

Otherwise, moss giants (near Fishing Guild) and fire giants (after Waterfall Quest) would be good creatures to train on while getting profit.

 

 

 

Regarding equiptment: use the best d'hide armour you can use, either magic shortbow with high ammy or knives.

 

 

 

The advantage of using knives is that they're thrown a little faster than a shortbow shoots. On the other hand, however, knives give less ranged bonus causing you to hit lower, as well as lack the special attack magic bows have.

I bet you can actually make money killing caged ogres with knives with ranarr, kwuarm, snap, etc. seed drops. ALWAYS use ranged potions.
