I'm downloading the Windows 7 RC...

 

I'm a bit confused on how it works.

 

Is there an actual download box that comes up?

 

Because I'm on the part after you enter your live ID. and there is a green circle spinning in the middle. Its been like that for anout 6 hours...

 

 

 

Can anyone clarify?

 

Also, Once (if) it downloads, how do I install it?

 

 

 

EDIT: Is downloading now on IE... (Lol, IE seems so ghetto compared to chrome :o )

I had big problems downloading it, I did it in internet explorer, got the download link, then downloaded in in opera.(Opera didn't load the page at all and the ie download manager failed epically). Just be aware that there are browser issues and that you have to mix up different browsers.

 

 

 

Edit: For the install part, get imgburn and use it to burn the "iso" file that you download to a cd. Then restart your computer and when it's in the bios press esc(or another button, depending on bios) to bring up boot order and select to boot from cd.

 

 

 

Editx2: If you're on vista then i believe you can autorun the cd to get the installation within vista.

 

 

 

Also remember to backup important data because there's a 20% chance that you'll totally [cabbage] up your system.

It didn't work for me on chrome. Then I switched to ff (or ie, I forget), and it worked.

Couldn't you just use a program like Alcohol to read the iso file directly from the computer without burning it? Or is that what you said in th editx2? Because Alcohol works great on almost everytime windows OS.

Not in this case, your actually booting directly from the dvd into a new operating system like you would with windows from the hard drive.

 

 

 

Running the dvd within windows is just to import settings and files into win7, you still need the live cd.
