Blake
So I just started playing SC today, and I'm getting about 35k points, is that good/average? Is there a certain world I should be going to? I've been using 158. When you join, should I go to the big pen on the east, and join a cc, or go into the smaller ones on the west? I am using the reward points on Morphic tools, I will get hammers for now for smithing. Steel Plates are the highest platebody I could make, should I make those, or is there another thing I could make? It seems really expensive to make steel plates, will I still get the same amount of expirience if I make iron knives or something that profits? Thanks :
ladycai
I usually join a random team, the blue one  As long as you do work, you're fine. 35k points is a little low, but for your stats I'm actually impressed :D I wouldn't make steel plates, unless you alch them. However even so you're losing much more than what you gain. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
Blake
Thanks, I just got 47k points that game \ What do you think I should make then?
ladycai
I'm not an expert on this since I actually smithed steel bars to 72 smithing. However I looked into your idea of iron knives: one bar yields a 185 gp of iron knives, and an iron bar is 241 gp. Using SC hammers will increase the experience from 25 to 50. It doesn't look bad \ 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
Jaffy1
You could do it the hard way and smelt/superheat mithril bars til you're smithing 68 and then smith all to plates in one go. Would put those hammers to good use. Tip.It Website Crew Leader[hide=Quotes]I love it how Jafje comes outa nowhere and answers my questionsHehe now we know what real life does...drugs, drugs, more drugs. Blake
I will probably do something with iron bars. Ive superheated 1k mithril bars before, and even though I profited, I hated it so I wont be doing that.

Jaffy1
I was referring to mining-superheating method. That would involve buying x mithril ore and the same number of nats, then taking mithril ores into the mines and superheating there. That would get your mining up as well. Blake
Maybe I will do that after I get 60 smithing; I want 60 so I can play SC more efficiently. That sounds like a good idea because it would get me 60 mining too
Dexek
I personally use the CC section as there are a couple CC's that I always play SC with. I like it because I don't have to wait the 2 minutes like in the Blue/Red section once we start. If you wanted more points per hour and were willing to follow their rules, there are quite a few skilling clans that practice non-combat SC games. These games are a bit faster because once all of the clay has been harvested the game ends within one minute. This makes games roughly 10-14 minutes rather than a full 20. I personally like the combat games, even though I tend to just skill in them anyways. I believe the world for SC Claymates is W45. You will use the CC section in this world, and will have to join one of the two CC's that they advertise. The CC's vary so I don't know which names to tell you. 35k points is alright, being 23 points per game (if I remember correctly). The maximum points per game is 26, and with the point range it requires, 23 is fine. Your SC hammers will last for the same amount of experience regardless of what you create (as far as I know) so it might be wise to create an item that is a bit mroe cost effective than steel platebodies. Iron knives are very cheap to create, but quite a bit slower. It all depends on whether you prefer speed or cost effective training. The hammers themselves will already cut the overall training time in half, and reduce the costs by 50% as well, so you were wise to begin training with SC tools. Have fun, and enjoy the greatest mini-game; Stealing Creation! PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape

I think I am going to go with iron bars for now. Thank you for the information, everyone else too :)
Blake
I think that a hammer will last 1200 iron bars, if I'm correct, so I bought 1.2k iron bars, and am smithing them into knives now. Better losing 50k on these than 500k on steel plates.
