i started this quest a while back and thought id finish it. i dont know what part im at and when i try to talk to the wanderer at her tent it says i cant go in bc it smells like dead cat.....any help on what i could be missing?

Why don't you open the quest diary (Quest tab ---> Select the quest)? It'll tell you where you're at...

i did but all it says isi have a cracking headache.....i vaguely remember a strange jar. i wonder if its linked to the pyramid in sophanem....?

Try going back into the city through the rocks to the north a bit of her tent. This is the way she sent you in the first time. Then when you go back inside the pyramid you will find the jar in your inventory if you were at a point in the quest where you needed it.
