My brother drew the characters on paper (he's awesome at drawing), I then transfered them to pixel, shaded them and then drew the background.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I did NOT use any programs like Photoshop and I didn't use any premade graphics or gradients.

Good idea, I'll work on it.

The background is acceptable, but the characters have far too many stray (misplaced) pixels, and its obvious, -in a bad way- that it was copied from a sketch. I say redo them and loose anything you even think is ill formed.

Ok I've updated it and ditched the arcade game style. I tried to do what everyone said (added dragon, birds, tried to AA it a bit more, increased the contrast on the castle, removed some odd pixels and added tree + hanging man).

The head of the mace dude in the sprites is a bit too small?

Looks great, my personal favorite that I don't know why about your pixel is the guy hanging from the tree in the bg :twisted:

guy hanging reminds me of shawshank redemption oddly :( sad stuff (if you dont know then watch it)
