no, there breath is longrange

All metal dragon's Fireball attack can hit you if you are able to hit them. So basically what dmt said.

Once you're out of melee range they automatically only use fire breath.

For mage/range, use an anti-fire breath shield and an anti-fire potion to recieve no damage at all, provided that you are not in melee range. With a halberd, since it is two handed, you have to use an anti-fire potion, and mage prayer.

Best just ranging/maging with anti fire pots: they are pretty cheap.

And yeah, range is profitable, mage is faster and melee unless you use prayer is dumb :) :thumbdown:. If you're under 80 range, I honestly suggest you mage them!
