It's a zone focusing camera, so you're meant to work out the distance between the subject that you're trying to photograph and yourself, and adjust the focus ring to suit. the focus ring has three indents, one for a headshot (1m), a full length shot (3m) and then for infinity, but of course you can set it anywhere in between. The rangefinder was this cameras older, more expensive brother.
