Well, I usually use a lot of brushes on PS to make sigs.

 

 

 

This time I decided to make it different, I used no brushes, just filtering (really little amount), a lot of pencil drawing and some blending.

 

 

 

I loved the way it got, looks much better than when I make sigs just with brushes and blending, I feel that I finally found out what photoshop can give me :)

I never have used brushes much. Most of my stuff comes from selection tools, gradients, blending options, filters, and the occasional dodge/burn. Decent job on your sig, it's got a bit of aliasing.. you could probably fix that with a.. blur brush :P

The blue is there...hmm...I don't know why :P It would look weird if only using grayscale :wink:
