gorgoroth
In a different thread i heard mention of this spell being a decent way to train Magic. Since i'll be looking for a profitable way to get Mage exp this might be an option and since it gives Crafting exp (another one of the 99's i would like to have) its hitting 2 birds with one stone. I need one of two things, either a guide explaining how its done and whats needed, or for someone to take the time and explain the whole method to me. I have looked through the Guides section on TIF very briefly and could not find anything similar to what i need. Any help would be great. Thank you in advance. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
nerdboyxxx
Well Super glassmake is the way to go if you want 99 mage and crafting, but 99 mage will take longer than 99 crafting using super glassmake. Okay, I'll try to list all the requirements and needed items to do it. If I leave anything out, I'm sure someone will correct me. Req's: -77 mage -Lunar Diplomacy completed -Air rune to do efficiently -Astral Runes -Fire Runes -Lunar Spellbook as main So what you're going to do is this; either collect or buy buckets of sand, and either seaweed, swamp weed, or soda ash (You can also collect some of these, but buying them is the most efficient way. You will still make a profit). Then, follow these steps: 1. Have fire runes, astral runes, and staff of air equipped. Stand outside a one-click bank if you want to maximise experience. 2. Withdraw 13 Buckets of Sand, and either 13 Soda Ash, Seaweed, or Swamp weed (you can use either 3, but I'd suggest seaweed as it is easy to buy in large amounts, and is only around 260gp). 3. Cast superglass make. All the ingredients will be converted to molten glass. You will get anywhere from 13-26 molten glass. Each molten glass will grant you 10 crafting exp, and each cast will grant you 78 mage exp. 4. Bank and repeat steps 1-3. So you can get up to 140 crafting experience per cast, and 78 mage exp per cast as well, which will work out to around 60-70K craftig experience per hour if you average around 16 molten glass an inventory, and about 40K mage experience an hour. So, it will take longer to get 99 mage this way, but you have an advantage; cash. With the cash you will get from 99 crafting, you can simply buy enough to high-alch the rest of your mage levels. Pretty sweet :D good luck with 99 mage and crafting as well ;)

gorgoroth
I'm a bit confused as to work out the profit/loss ill be making using this method. Tip.it calculator says i need about 121k to get 99 Mage. Is that 121k Casts or 121k piecec of glass? Im pretty sure that i need 121k Spells which would give me 1.94mil pieces of glass at an avarage or 16 pieces of glass per cast. If i sell this for 450gp each i will end up selling it for 708mil. Buying all the supplies for 99 Mage will cost me 741Mil (sand + seaweed) and the runes will cost me another 104mil. So at the end all the glass wil sell for 871mil. That will leave me with a profit of about 26Mil. Is that at all right? **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
ovorette
Is that 121k Casts or 121k piecec of glass? It's 121k casts. I didn't run your other numbers, though it looks right to me. Good luck with this, sounds like a good way to train. :)
rangeor
I just want to make sure you're aware that superglass make is very profitable but also very slow experience. Good luck.
gorgoroth
So im guessing the calculations i did is somewhat on target? **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
mrpadre
This video should explain most things, but I'll try and help a little bit more. Well Super glassmake is the way to go if you want 99 mage and crafting, but 99 mage will take longer than 99 crafting using super glassmake. Okay, I'll try to list all the requirements and needed items to do it. If I leave anything out, I'm sure someone will correct me. Pretty sweet :D good luck with 99 mage and crafting as well ;) There are a few things wrong with this, first, you get 10 crafting experience for each sand/seaweed combo used, so 130 crafting experience per cast, this doesn't change. You cannot get 26 molten glass in one cast, I'm pretty sure the maximum is 22, but that doesn't matter, because the average cast is 17 glass. If you're fast, you can get around 45k magic exp and 75k crafting exp per hour, and depending on prices, around 700k gp per hour (It can be a lot more or a lot less depending on prices).
