August 3, 200916 yr . . . and making me feel as inadequate as the guy I'm trying to encourage -.- My stats are as follows: 70 Attack 65 Defense 69 Hitpoints 67 Magic 57 Prayer - not that it helps at all with this quest 66 Ranged 66 Strength 43 Summoning - again, no help For an overall combat level of 89. Any strategies for beating this first monster at my levels? I realize I will have to finish all of the fights in one go but I at least need to get past the first one. I have used super pots, rune armour, dragon weapon, helm of Nietz, dragon boots, and tuna potatoes for food. Four attempts have had me running for the lectern just before certain death. I've been so busy eating to stay alive I can't say I noticed if I am being meleed, ranged, maged, or all three. It may be that I need to just wait until my melee stats are higher, but if there is a better way to do it I would appreciate any helpful information.
August 3, 200916 yr I did it with 72 attack def and str without much trouble... Just make sure you use super pots and high healing food YouTube
August 3, 200916 yr Since you have 70 attack a whip would be a good investment to help you. Barrows armor would also make it easier.
August 3, 200916 yr Author I did it with 72 attack def and str without much trouble... Just make sure you use super pots and high healing food 70 attack is my highest combat skill with the others hardly what I would call close to that. Also I have used super pots, rune armour, dragon weapon, helm of Nietz, dragon boots, and tuna potatoes for food. Any strategy you recall? Thanks for the help.

I do have a whip but have been loath to use it as it is my most valuable item at the moment. Maybe I should give it a try. Do you think it would be a big improvement over a dragon weapon in this boss fight? Can't wear Barrows armour yet. Too bad because I think this would help.
August 3, 200916 yr Depends on which dragon weapon, but I'd say that whip is generally an improvement. Also, if you're using rune armor, your whip is far more valuable and will keep over the armor. At least I think it should, check the "What you lose on death" interface to be sure. August 3, 200916 yr dds specs and whip with super pots and a decent sheild, you can safespot the other i've read somewhere (i just meleed the 1st and seconds and ranged the rest if i remember rightly)

I have at least become expert on exiting via the lectern so I'm not quite so worried about losing it now. ;) a decent sheild I have an obsidian shield which I also have not used, will try this along with whip, as well. Thanks!
August 3, 200916 yr get your def up to 70, and then use guthan if you can afford. Thats what i did, guthans makes the world a whole lot easier.
