I think treasure trails and barrows chest loot also fall in the "bonus drop" category, thus they are not affected by the ROW.

Yes they are bonus drops.

 

The fact that they aren't affected by the RoW is also in the guide. ^^

(121 kills without a drop isnt really a basis with which to change your ring. i have 411 kills all w/o wealth without having a drop but i still continue using beserker/archer ring)

 

Which ring you choose is upto you. If you have low stats using a fremmy ring/ma enchanted ring meaning faster kills, could be better than using a RoW where you kill them slower.
