I wonder if merching is the best thing to do... I have:

And

 

55 smithing

 

as the only stats that I want to raise. if any, I smelted steel to get the 4m.

buy pieces from rune (t) (z) etc. below market price make them into a set and sell it

Well, you are going to have to have a lot of patience.

 

 

 

Just wait for one of the Rune Sara etc. armour' falls below the usual price. Then you re just going to have to wait. Use the grand exchange tab on the homepage to see what armour has been plummeting down so that you can merch.

I would watch pricing on items such as limpwurt roots, big bones, and runes. Then invest accordingly. Keep smelting steel while waiting on these items to reach appropriate prices. Just be aware that these items may fall in worth shortly due to everyone going back to school. You must also be aware of manipulation clans, as it may seem an item is rising nicely, then the owner/ranked will dump/sell their items, causing the price to plummet. You definitely don't want to get caught holding onto massive amounts of a useless item.
