Lordliquid
Nice idea, but I'm guessing cartoony faces don't fall under anatomy then? "Do you really know me? I might be a God."
Godslayer
Best of luck with this, but I'm afraid you'd be better off on a more 'art oriented' forum.
venomai
Nice idea, but I'm guessing cartoony faces don't fall under anatomy then? Depends, if they are line sketches (not final pieces) you can still post them and they will fall somehwat under "The rest of the human body - Muscular System or otherwise". Almost any human-figure/form based sketches or drawings, even if they are caricatures or cartoons, are fine with me. I'm just putting limits to avoid grunge/abstract or completely off-topic things. (Hopefully QS agrees with me on this, but the more activity the better!) Best of luck with this, but I'm afraid you'd be better off on a more 'art oriented' forum. We have plenty of drawers (mostly pixelers) that could really learn from a decent anatomy practice. And yes, that means you too :) Even if QS and I are the only ones participating (shame on the rest of you if this is the case :P ) we can still get quite a bit of art and practice done in the time we have (1 month) for this subject alone. PS: I've finished a profile view of the head, hopefully I can get it scanned by tonight if I'm not too busy. :)
blazer
I know I could benefit from some practice of anatomy. Count me in. :)
APERSON
Here is one I'm working on, I would love some pointers. Why should we buy postage stamps when we can make our own?aperson being
venomai
Sorry for the late reply, I've been out all day. Here is one I'm working on, I would love some pointers. Fantastic work, a very good piece you've got going. Nice colours. Using a tablet? The bow is looking good, the green on the arrow needs to go IMO. The legs don't look bad, and the hair + clothes (especially that arm band) look great. I think the biggest problems are your skin shading (doesn't look very natural?) and the lack of texture. If you softened up the shadows and highlights I think it would help a lot, and adding some more texture could make it much more interesting. But as I said, right now it's a solid piece of art and I can't wait for the final. Anyways, I'm not my best tonight, hopefully I can give you a more useful critique tomorrow. EDIT: Here's a start. I'll try and re-scan them on a better scanner over the weekend, this one is giving me very small images :| (reference: drawing by Andrew Loomis)

Quer_Skulll
omg, Quer told me i was gonna learn something bout the human body in this topic, gues not, i dont understand anything of it :? (myabe cuz im noly 11 ^^) dude this months theme teaches you about how the human head works and looks. if you practice with this months theme from time to time you get the hang of drawing heads. The reason for the whole examples of muscles thing is more or less so you will understand how it works and what can be done and what can't be done (in this case facial expressions, hope Ven agrees with me on this) Considering the cartoony thing, cartoony has anatonomy to and is based on it. so yes even the ones who ride the roads of the cartoon high way will benefit from this. Aperson thats pretty good stuff you got there, a style i havent seen before on this forum. my only critique would be that the fingers left (to us) should be holding the arrow and string .. right now the arrow is floating. and a little misser on the right(to us) leg in which the muscles are a off and it looks a little flat for some reason. once i get my scanner working and get this "hard-ware problem its indicating" fixed ill get some of the sketches and drawings up.
