August 26, 200916 yr Author I don't even think it has to be an orginized effort. For example, when the prayer pots started getting merchanted upwars, people realized that they could make more money selling them than normal, so there's more people gathering herbs, more people growing ranarr, and all this leads to them dumping more prayer pots on the economy not even to spite the merchanters, but simply because it's profitable. Making the merchanters fail is just an added bonus! What you're saying is absolutely correct. However, the economical principles involved here do not always work as fast as you would hope. Of course, more supply is created by increasing prices, but it most of the time is not enough to turn around the price trend. Also, a lot of items are being merched at the same time. Therefore, the people reacting to it are spread over these items. The organization is what may stop the manipulation.
September 13, 200916 yr This idea looks awesome. I'm in if we can get a group going with enough people in it.
September 15, 200916 yr I'm sorry if I'm not being really constructive, but here goes. The ONLY way to be able to stop price manipulation completely is to make a crapload of bots, have then mass-sell EVERY SINGLE ITEM THAT IS IN RS. That way, price manipulators will only end up buying stuff, therefore their manipulating efforts have gone to waste. But then again, we have the bot problem at rise again. We have to price manipulate again. Why does this go in circles so much? #-o BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention

September 16, 200916 yr This wouldn't work because any decent merch clan only does items that players can't make or get large amounts of quickly for exactly this reason. The reason barrows, fremmy rings, dragon drops, infinity, etc are merched so frequently is because if they did anything from a production skill, they're just asking for trouble, no matter how big the clan's bank is.
