Training Options?

I'm looking to get to 85 Attack and Defense, along with 90 strength, and I want to do it through Slayer, as this can yield decent profit and charms so I can get summoning up more.

XP to 85 Attack: 1,058,579

XP to 90 Strength: 3,262,493

XP to 85 Defense: 2,473,312

Total XP Needed: 6,794,384

Slayer XP Gained: 1,698,596

Current Slayer XP: 152,238

End Slayer XP: 1,850,834 (Level 79)

I also want to get 85 Ranged afterwards along with this, but there are a few methods I want to do to get this: either Aviansies (casual training with a good profit) or Slayer as well. I've noticed in the 2k or so Aviansies I've killed that I get a drop rate of 1/4 on the Adamantite Bars drop. This will help me get more things for skilling, for skills like Prayer and Construction(<3333 Construction).

XP to 85 Ranged: 2,253,938

Aviansies to 85 Ranged (Average level: 73): 8,411

Current Adamantite Bar Price: 2,723

Assumed Profit: 22,903,153gp

However with Slayer I can get more levels up and have a diverse training method and will be less likely to burn out.

XP to 85 Ranged: 2,253,938

Slayer XP After Melee Training: 1,850,834

Without Cannon:

Slayer XP Gain from Ranged: 563,484

End Slayer XP: 2,414,318 (Level 81)

Cannoning Everything:

Slayer XP Gain from Cannon: 1,126,968

End Slayer XP: 2,977,802 (Level 84)

Are there any better ways to train Melee than Slayer, such as MZs, AZs, Ghostly Warriors, etc.?

Should I fight Aviansies or do Slayer for my Ranged XP?

If I use Slayer for Ranging, should I cannon it all, use it some of the time, or not at all?

Are there any other training methods I have overlooked completely with this?

If I follow all of the Slayer paths, what equipment will I need?

EDIT: Two more questions:

Are there any summoning familiars at 43 Summoning that are useful?

Will I be getting enough charms to raise my Summoning level a lot (possibly to at least 68)?

Thanks for looking and replying (if you do)

Raising comat through slayer, very good.

For ranged I'd say, while doing the slayer tasks for melee, range those creatures that are good to range (for example fire giants). After done with melee, if you haven't reached your goal level for ranged, do slayer and aviensies (whichever you feel like for variety).

Regarding the familiars, I have a similar summoning level and don't use any familiars for combat, merely for skills.

Bull Ant, for example, is quite useful as it carries 9 items. A Macaw is handy to have around when fighting creatures that drop herbs. Beavers are useful when woodcutting or fletching. Compost Mounds for farming. Desert Wyrm for mining, and of course the Granite Crab when fishing. A Thorny Snail can carry 3 items and Spirit Spiders are good for red spider eggs (requires scrolls). Deadfowl also boosts farming, and Spirit Wolf is useful in the wilderness to chase off revenants with the howl (requires scrolls).

This may also help:

Thanks for those bits of advice :) Any idea on what to wear when slaying melee? Cause I know that with Ranged I should just use my void in most situations. Would melee void be a good option on tasks?

Melee void is only good on tasks that require little to no defence, the best armour would be barrows (Or bandos, but I highly doubt that you should be getting that at your level). As for which set, torag's is good for absolute defence, verac's is good for the prayer bonus, and guthan's has decent defence plus the set effect to heal yourself. It would also help to know which master you are currently using, because summona is better in terms of cannonable tasks.

I prefer to use the Pollinvech or Zanaris masters, but since I recently completed Smoking Kills I am going to go there for the 10th tasks

Void only works when you won't take any hits (it provides no defence whatsoever). I would say black dragonhide or up, armadyl if you can afford it. I find that my armadyl armour usually defends well against fairly strong creatures.

Rune crossbow and broadtipped bolts are an option, if you prefer shortbows, a magic one and steel (or higher) arrows would be my recomendation. I personally only use my crossbow when it's really necessary because I don't like it much.

For melee it really depends what you're fighting. For example if you want to melee infernal mages, you'd wear dragonhide (armour with decent magic defence). For such tasks I can also recommend infinity boots and mind shield (or better).

For creatures that attack with melee you could use barrows, or if you dislike degrading armour, dragon. Dragon is often underrated by people that use barrows, but I find it does more than suffice and doesn't make much of a difference compared to barrows armour (I used both at some point now I just got rid of the barrows). Same goes for magic, use ahrim's or infinity.

It's not that Void provides no defense. It's defense is roughly 1/2-1/3 of barrows equipment. That's still enough to keep me afloat at many locations. Void has a rep for having trash defense, which is true, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take it to dangerous locations.

I tanked 99 range through slayer in my void. Void can hold its own with the correct levels and items (unicorn/sgs/super def/food)

Thanks for the tips! Another quick Q: Should I go and get 70 prayer first? Then I can get Enhanced Excalibur?

Well if you're only doing it for EE, then I would say do it unless you have an SGS.

Although Piety is extremely useful anyway. It's your call. If you hunt bosses a lot, get 70 pray, otherwise, get it unless you have an SGS.
