hi! i am in need of some good advice,

 

 

 

i am currently 75 attack, 70 defense and 75 strength as well as 65 slayer. i would like to get my strength to 85 using a saradomin sword with slayer, but i am not sure how to best go about this. buying a saradomin sword would mean selling my whip and full guthans and lowering my cash supply to about 100k, although i am confident i could make back the money i lost from buying the sword quickly i am scared that some tasks would be come much harder, possibly even beyond my capability to complete in 1 run, such as greater demons and fire giants. this would in turn lower my slayer xp per hour. one method i though of doing was completing a few quests and going to avainseines(i am 73 ranged, and have done avainseines on my last account, so i know how to kill them effectively) to raise a more suitable amount of cash to buy the sword with so i would not have to sell my guthans. however i am still not entirely sure if buying a saradomin sword would be better then using a dragon scimitar with a defender, any help with how i could go about getting up my strength most effectively (with slayer, if possible) would be great, thanks.

You have a few choices here.

 

1) Use whip on controlled, along with 85 strength, you'll get 85 attack and like 83-84 defence, but it will be like 2.90 times slower

 

2) Use Berserker Combo : Toktz-xil-ak + Berserker necklace + Defender/Whatever shield (I'd go for defender though). Faster than dragon scimi.

 

3) Use Dragon scimi :wall:

 

4) Make money for Sara Sword

 

 

 

I personally think Saradomin Sword is overrated and If I would have to sell anything to get it, I'd rather get the obsidian Combo which is cheaper. About the slayer tasks: We don't know if you have trouble doing them with a shield or not right now. If you do have trouble, it will slow you down and cost you more, otherwise, probably not.

 

Also, the Saradomin Sword won't be very helpful at killing dragons.

 

Last. Strength is really overrated. A balanced account is way better in PvM than a strength based one.

A Saradomin sword is better xp per hour then d scimmy and rune defender, but the down side is if you get a task like basilisks which require a mirror shield a Saradomin swor wouldn't do much good. Even if you kept full guthans it wouldn't help on those task either. My suggestion is to sell guthans go to aviansies till you have enough money to have a seconday weapon like a scimmy, might only take like one short run.

 

 

 

Overall get d scimmy and SS, well if you want to spend money.

i do very well against any strength based mele monster with a shield, such as giants, demons (not black) and most other monsters.

 

 

 

i only want strength up because it raises max hit, now that im 75 attack i have no other leveled items to unlock that would be useful for pve and i wanted it to get it out of the way, i might do the whip on controlled as i also want slayer levels badly, the obsidian sword sounds like a bad idea for slayer to me. on the other hand just making some money might be the best way to go, thanks for the help so far.

SS is only better than D Scim + Defender by 5-10k an hour, and that's powertraining. Along with only leaving you with 100k for anything you might need daily, this is a bad idea until you will have at least a mil left over. Even then, you should be fine doing str with a scimmy, that's what I did (I only got my SS at 86 str I think).
