Herb and Limpwurt death rate.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have been farming for quite a while now, and only recently, I've noticed that a lot of my herbs are dieing.

And by that, I mean they are dieing more often. I'm talking about an average of 1-2 deaths per run (5 herb patches), and this is really killing me. I supercompost them all the time. Also, what are the death rates for limpwurts if I don't supercompost them, but water them once after I plant? Right now, I only harvest around 2 limp patches out of 4. Last run, all four died :wall:

Should I supercompost my limps? And has anyone else had similar experiences?

Well... I'm defenately not an "experienced" farmer, but I can say that if you're doing limps for money, you should farm them. I have more than enough supercompost by making it with my own watermelons so that shouldn't be a problem

I'm pretty sure the average herb/patch yeild is 5.6 or something around that

Well, I'm planting kwuarms and limps in hope to train my paltry herblore level.

I just finished another run, and 1 dead limp + 2 dead kwuarms :wall: I haven't have a death free run in a long time.

You're just unlucky then ;)

Simply bad luck. Average for herbs is about 6.5-6.7 herbs per patch.

I'm averaging waaay less than that from about 73 farming dating back to 2 months ago -.-

Also, what about limpwurts? Should I supercompost them if I'm farming them for herblore?

You should always be using supercompost.

Magic secateurs yes, and if I supercompost them, should I bother watering? Is the limp plant always 3 roots per harvest?

No need to water. It takes too long. Don't worry about not having enough to train herblore because they're dying. You'll never have enough anyway, because your herb harvests will always be more than twice the size of your limpwurt harvests. If you have more kwuarms than limps, there's nothing wrong with selling the extra herbs and/or buying more limpwurts to close the gap.

When I'm growing something that can be watered, I just water it once, right after I plant it, and then don't bother watering it again. And yes, it's always 3 limps per harvest.
