Set-up for abbarent spectres?

Featured Replies

Right well I haven't slayed these things in nearly a year! :o

So I was going to go with prayer boosting gear and pray mage. So I've got the proselyte plate and legs, zammy god book(offence bonus, sacrificing +2 of fally shield 3).

I don't have any prayer boosting cape so I'm just going with an obby cape.

My main question is should I use a fury or a god stole? Is the extra +5 prayer worth the loss of the stats the fury gives?

Then also boots wise is it worth wearing bandos boots for +1 prayer or shall I stick with dragon for the +4 str boost?

any help would be super!

First, the offensive stats of the Unholy Book are nothing compared to the bonus given by the Falador Shield 3 (You can even let your prayer drain completely once and use the special).

Use a Fury, and buy a God Cloak if you can afford.

Use Dragon Boots.

Ah, I was assuming you had it already.

If you don't want to obtain it, then the Unholy Book does work fine, though I prefer a Rune Defender over it.

I looked you up I think (From a screenshot in another thread) Joe R...... (Not posting full).

Either way, compare to mine (Nick231) and give just straight tanking a try.

Slayer helmet or Nosepeg

Salve Ammy (e) (Regular salve ammy is useless if you have slayer helmet) Salve Ammy if using nosepeg, otherwise fury or glory.

Karil's Top

Karil's Skirt

Dragon Boots

Whip

Rune Defender

Fire cape>God cape>=Obsidian cape/Skill cape

For gloves best RFD or Regen Bracelet

Ring of Wealth or Berserker/Warrior ring

Bring a Bunyip, and I use about 10 lobsters per trip of about 30-35 spectres (I bring 15 and just eat extra to make room for herbs which are more expensive). Enhanced Excalibur would reduce food usage even further, can even use rapid healing prayer to reduce further (Especially if you teleport through house to canifis or pollinech.

I recommend the Smoking kills spectres if you've finished that quest and have the slayer helmet, nice and empty so don't have to fight over them. (It's also multi-combat so you can bring combat familiars or cannon them if you wanted (But for tanking bunyip or other healing familiar is probably better)).

Use a fury, dragon boots, and a defender, if you prayer flash it'll last the whole task. Their attack rate is the same as the whip so it's easy. When your inventory is getting full with whatever you decide to pick up pray offencively and when you need to bank teleport to your house, recharge your prayer, and use the canifis portal.
