zoozoobundy
I need some smithing advice, I need to get to level 69 without losing much cash, making profit is no concern, as long as I break even. I will be using sacred clay hammers. I am currently 63 Smithing, and it would be appreciated if advice was given.
SacredFlam3s
u can make 2.3gp/xp with bronze darts lol. I guess it would be steel plates, as its fastest and you will lose like 1-2mil, which isn't much these days. Maybe mithril bolts is cheaper after adding feathers, i dont know. Look at my level and you'll understand. zoozoobundy
I tried smithing mithril bolts, and it cost me 680K+ going from 60-63. Is there really anyway to raise this skill without losing or breaking even. Maybe Steel Plates are my only option.
Sy_Accursed
If you allow MTK to collect coal (5 workers with 10 on fish or w/e to make money), then you can do steel, mith or addy plates with a tidy profit. All 3 make profit with bought ore (and the mtk coal) being alched (buying nats) Mith and addy make profit using superheat instead of reg smelting (again buying nats) Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Naive
Pardon the ignorance, but how does one profit Superheating rather than normal smelting? I agree with what Paw Claw said, I'm just a bit confused on that bit. Sinkhan
Pardon the ignorance, but how does one profit Superheating rather than normal smelting? I agree with what Paw Claw said, I'm just a bit confused on that bit. Generally, either barely profit, almost break even, or lose a tiny bit. The only real advantage to it is that you gain oodles of magic experience and it's quite a bit faster than regular smelting. Regular smelting will pretty much always profit in any situation, except for like gold and silver. It's just slower. Superheating is definitely the way to go if you want to raise your smithing and magic at the same time. It costs very little or profits a little. Otherwise, the blast furnace is a very good option. I got 65-74 smithing there with a few hammers and a boatload of coal and mithril. Smithing bolts will profit, smithing platebodies will be super fast. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Sy_Accursed
With my method if u crunch the numbers 5 X mith/addy ore + 6 Nats is less than 1 alch on mith/addy plate. Mith makes a few hundred gp per plate addy makes a couple of k. Its not vital to the method it just speeds things up a bit Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Kasalisk
If you have the time you can buy iron ore and rings of forging and smelt the ores into bars and then smith the bars into knives, you profit but it takes quite some time, I think it took me nearly 12k iron ore from 60-70 Smithing.
